    * meal plan for the week
    * look for a code for Tesco delivery
    * complete Tesco order for tomorrow

    CG Love your signature!
VonD Good news that your buyers aren't jumping ship and my DH gets embarassed when I use vouchers too!
La Escocesa enjoy your night out
ally Hope your "conference" was productive
Tash I hope you got some of your second baking session!!
BagpussThanks for your reply, I will look around and see what I can find.
Bob Glad worked picked up at the end of the week, hope you have a good month. DH/kids weekend breakfast is alway crumpets :)
BB Enjoy your film afternoon, sounds lovely
Maria i always loved buying bits for the house, we're all sorted now though
Dawn Sounds like a lovely birthday party.
Olliegami I hope you aren't feeling too poorly with your cold. Re my £200 saved for bday/xmas, I'm a stay at home mum but both kids are in full time school so after I get the housework done etc I usually try and do a couple of surveys if available. I get a buzz from getting the gift cards :) although the £200 does include some cashback from car insurance £45 & for a sim contact £40) the rest is mainly from swagbucks though.

Hi all, sounds like everyone is doing well.
    Today we have/will

    Had YS crumpets for b/fast
Made fishpie for family who came over for lunch
Watched the 2nd half of ninja warriors that we'd recorded last night for kids, and was telling them about Gladiators, within 5 minutes we'd found the very first episode of it on Youtube which hubby played through tele and we all really enjoyed it, proper family entertainment :)
Kids have asked for easy peasy pizza for tea (in other words, some bread out of the freezer, grilled on one side, turn over, on the untoasted side smear with tom puree, cover with grated cheese and back under the grill)
Managed a NSD with our usual Sunday Mr T del pushed back to tomorrow.

    Doing all the usuals too.

Busy thread again today :T Glad to hear everyone is doing well :D

    Not much small stuff today...

    * checked banking
    * reminded oh to pay housekeeping. Annoying as I need to take money from joint account (not just a small amount but can't until he pays up)
    * checked weather forecast and looking good for tonight/tomorrow so will put a load out
    * another load in machine. Will hang on dryer when it's done
    * cleaned old fridge/freezer. Oh had great idea of sticking it in garage and having it as a second freezer :T
    * not so bright he left a whole drawer of food in the old freezer. I didn't realise until just now so will have to throw it away. Luckily it's just odds and sods. Annoying! Will save what I can.
    * went food shopping and now have enough food to last 2 week (with a small top up shop next week)
    * read book tonight
    * post on facebay for a new hairdresser
    * making batch of chicken & veg pasta for dinner but also for lunches/snacks during week
    * make cheese & onion pastys & freeze some
    * make nutella (lidl brand ;)) pastry straws to use up rest of pastry

Need to go and wake dgd up. She's conked out on the sofa!

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Thanks for all the breakfast suggestions. Ollie - interesting point on texture. I hadn't ever thought of that. And as for roadkill. I think a lot of people just are conditioned not to pick money up. Simple as that. But silly them.

Dawn - boo to leaky animals. Ladies like us should not be cleaning up pee. But haven't both Twiggy & Shortie both suffered at the hands or back ends of their feline companions recently too?

BB - thanks for the info on your buying circle. It does sound very beneficial.

Hannah - thank you let's hope so :)

FVD - Turkish food is one of my favourites. We visited a little fishing village called Kas. It was wonderful. The fish was incredible. I loved those little cheese rolls they have for breakfast. And the grilled aubergines. Drool....

Hi all, I have lurked around here for a while so hope you don't mind me joining you. If we are very careful we should be just about debt free in 3 months but this is where things could get tricky. Our DS has a chronic illness and hubby and I both work part-time around caring for him. He has now turned 16 and due to the change in benefits we could lose a big chunk of our income.

I need to be more frugal than ever but seem to have lost my way a bit. Well actually I have lost my way a lot.

Mind if I stick around and pick up some advice and support? I really need to start watching the pennies.

Yorkshirelass Welcome, this is a lovely thread and everybody is very supportive.

Bob I have remembered a few other things we buy from the wholesaler - lemon juice, peanut butter, chocolate spread, syrup, tahini. I wombled a penny today and I thought of you :D

Ally That was a fantastic price for celebrating your civil partnership, especially as it included the honeymoon. When we are nearly DF/MF we will need to have a similar conversation, many years from now. OH likes the idea of savings et c but he also enjoys spending money :( We will both need to compromise as well as setting goals and continuing to monitor spends so any bad habits can be nipped in the bud. Any other tips would be appreciated.

I used to work with a girl who spent a year living in Kas, it sounds wonderful! I am more familiar with Olu Deniz.

The pastry things are Sigara Borek, it's white/feta cheese (and a little egg I think?) mashed up with parsley and rolled in filo pastry. Their aubergine dish (Imam Bayildi, literal translation, the Imam fainted!) is heaven on earth but I love aubergine in any dish. The aunties used to pickle baby aubergines with celery, garlic and chillies, I've tried to do it myself but it's never quite as good as our supermarkets cut most of the leaves off of the celery and the leaves were the best bit!

Ah now you have made me really hungry & really keen to go back to Turkey. I don't know about other people but I always want to revisit the places I have been, but somehow rarely do. I really hope Kas isn't spoilt now. I think the fact it was roughly 3 hours transfer on a bus from Antalya kept it somewhat unspoilt. Although the next place along Kalkan was very English. Not sure why one place kept it's ID but the other didn't.

Off to work soon. Predicting either super busy or dead as a door nail.

    Bye for now.
    Bob
