Ally - I hope the weather didn't get too bad for you over night. Congrats on being able to convert your CP to a marriage. I'm proud that we as a nation have changed the law. Just hope we can keep being so progressive over so many social topics.
Thanks. I think the garden survived the night.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Good morning
Well the weather here is appalling, rain, rain and more rain at least the trees in the wood that backs on to our garden are liking it they are lush and green
We have just been invited to watch a film at our friends with 3 other families - we will watch it cinema style as it will be projected on to the wall with a decent sound system and their will be popcorn etc but even better tea and coffee or maybe a beer for me and a roaring fire and the bonus is it will cost us nothing.

Olliegami We create the freezer list as a Google document which both myself and OH can edit, we are then able to access it from our phones (very useful when out and about and we haven't made a meal plan as we know what we have in so we can reduce the times we grab a take away or when shopping and we spot something we can check if we already have some in - useful when we haven't written a list) as well as laptop and tablet. We try very hard to update the inventory each time we add or remove an item as well as when we move the location of an item - when it moves shelf/drawer or freezer, we have 2every now and again things don't get updated so the list and the freezer are out of sync so every few months we go through each drawer/shelf and edit the list accordingly. We find having the inventory means we can find the items we want very quickly
, most food gets eaten within a reasonable time of going into the freezer (the game stew seems to be the exception - the children find it to gamey, so I am finding it hard to decide when we are going to eat that)
we rarely end up with 2 bags of peas open (1 in each freezer)
we don't end up with too much of one item. hth.
Bob The other day you asked about our wholesale delivery and I realised I forgot to answer. We use a Sheffield based company called Lembas http://www.lembas.co.uk/
The things that I can remember we buy are: Cocoa, sugar, flour, oats, dried fruit, seeds, apple juice concentrate, yeast pate, olives, coffee, tea, rapeseed oil, dw detergent, washing up liquid, washing powder, bicarb, teatree oil. We buy most things in bulk. We have set up a coop with friends and our extended family. Lembas are very friendly and helpful and everybody I have every met or talked has been brilliant, I must remember to pay them when they reopen next week.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Morning DFW-Ninjas,
Smaller list today. Still got some things hanging over from yesterday. Ran out of energy yesterday. Hope everyone is well and happy.
The List:
:starmod: Decide which restaurant we going to in a couple of week's time when we convert our Civil Partnership certificate to a Marriage certificate. We were going to go away for a night but have decided to leave that a few weeks til we have more spare cash. Decided on a nice, independent, local restaurant with reasonable prices. Their portions are large so we can have one main course and a drink and feel full.
:starmod: De-clutter the sitting room cupboard.
:starmod: OH to repair kitchen floor. Done.
:starmod: Print out my eP60 for later preference. How lazy is my employer expecting us to print our own.Done.
:starmod: Decide if we're going to the opera next week. Nope. Later in the year.
:starmod: OH cleaned, painted and tidied the pantry. Used paint from stores. Now we can see what we have.
:starmod: Decluttered my purse.
That's all for now. Good luck on your quests, Ninjas.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -

OH and I are just about to have a "conference" about how we're gonna live financially when we're debt-free. Serious stuff. A bit scared. I got my first credit card in 1995. Then my ex-left me with £12K of debt in 2006. Most of my adult life I've been in debt. I can't remember what not-in-debt feels like.
Better get the kettle on this could take a while.:coffee:
....Update: We're getting there. Lots of thinking...nothing concrete yet...much coffee drunk...haven't demolished any biscuits, yet...

Today I have/will:
1. Checked online banking
2. Been to Waitrose and did really well with bargain hunting. Lots of things reduced to silly prices such as ready meals reduced to 79p
3. Used half price chocs voucher in Waitrose and as they were reduced to £1.49 I got them for free.
4. Picked up free Daily Mail in Waitrose and entered code on back into my mail to collect a free chicken in M&S:)
5. Cleaned cat bowls and mats
6. Sort through emails
7. Read free Waitrose magazine and keep any recipes I like the sound of.
8. Meals from stores
9. Meal plan for next week
10. Sort budget for next week.
1HANNAH - I sign up to receive newsletters from companies and then they send me vouchers, the Waitrose vouchers I get because I have a my Waitrose card and scan it every time I shop there, I am guaranteed to receive a voucher on a Friday ready to shop on the weekend.Tesco: £1361.19, Vanquis: £2644.73, Very: £563.08, Next: £1636.95, M&S: £1049.92. Last night's meal ended up being an expensive one despite our Mr T vouchers, the drinks bill came to £54  (out of that I had one diet coke!) which I paid for but DH will pay me back as it was his friends we were entertaining, I just sorted the bill as he gets embarrassed proffering vouchers whereas I have no shame :rotfl:
We are out at a gig tonight with the same friends and meeting up with scores of DHs other muso friends, the friends from last night are insisting they will pay for our drinks all night but DH is driving and I'll be on diet coke again, I think I need to take up drinking again! I wish it was a Saturday as we're going very early but I'd have gone earlier still to go to Shepherds Bush market for old times sake (when I was 17 my boyfriend at the time lived in Acton and I spent most Saturday mornings there scouring for Agatha Christie books until I'd got the full set !)
Lunch is going to be an odd one today as I plan to use up some random YS ready meals so we'll all have something different. Bob, breakfast for me today is a cup of tea and some leftover peanuts! I need to check what we can easily cook when we get home tonight so we don't end up in the kebab shop, especially if I do decide to drink as I will then insist on speaking my very rusty Turkish (my first husband was Turkish) and DH will get the hump.
My son is still at his friend's house, their mum moved out a couple of weeks ago and their dad doesn't move in for another two weeks so the three teenage sons and all their mates are there on their own and it's party central (it always was anyway.) I wouldn't want to be the one cleaning up after them! (Or living next door to them for that matter!) They are all nice boys though and all musicians which is encouraging DS to practice more.
There is still no sign of my Aquilegia seeds germinating, I'm going to take them out of the plastic bags and leave them to fend for themselves outside. The Cosmos are doing fine, I just need to remember to put some sticks in the pot before a cat decides to sleep in it. I got another couple of packs of free seeds of something exotic looking at work which I will plant in with the Aquilegia to double my chances of having something growing in my retired mug garden!
The estate agent called today to say my buyers want to stick with buying my house despite knowing there is a proceedable one for sale on the same road as they prefer the layout of mine. I am interpreting that as 'they have seen the other but, as it's only just gone on, they aren't prepared to accept a lower offer yet'. He still thinks lots more will come on after the election but it remains to be seen at what price I suppose, I'm still not ruling out that they will jump again as it'll then be prime selling season.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Afternoon all
So far today I have:
Cleared up after dog peed on the floor overnightWhat with Bob's cat, there seems to be a lot of it about :rotfl:
Yogurt, HG rhubarb and meusli for breakfast. OH had HM bread and HM marmalade
Bread machine is on, as that was the last of the bread
Been out this morning scouring local indoor car boots for treasures for my sales unit. No outdoor boots today unfortunately as we have had a lot of rain (still raining, I got soaked a minute ago just going to close the outside door to stop it coming in)
Popped into Lidls on the way home to do a small top up shop (just over £6 spent)
Still to do:
Lunch in a minute, quiche and salad cos that is what is in the fridge
Roast dinner later, roast duck for a treat as our local butcher had them on offerHopefully there will be lots left for a stir fry etc
Do a bit of work for my business - lugging boxes around and putting labels on things
GD3's birthday party was lovely yesterday. It was an outside party, so it was lucky it didn't rain too much, though they do have a large tarpaulin roof thing, a large HM outbuilding with old sofas and a campfire in their field. They even managed a film and popcorn for the kids after they had eaten and played a lot of outside gamesIt was chilly away from the fire though - and now my coat smells of bonfires :rotfl:
Hope you are all enjoying the weekend, despite the rain0 -
Good Afternoon!
Quiet day again here. Had to do some more baking for the boys after some of the cheese and bacon savouries I cooked mysteriously disappeared. They were on the side cooling when I let the cat in. Went in the kitchen 20 mins later and we were missing some... Most odd
No list for today. 2nd purse shop will arrive later, mostly washing liquid and fabric conditioner. That's pretty much the highlight of the day.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!:T Weight Loss (Start Weight 14st 12lb): 5/24 lbs :T
