Just found a shiny £1 on the street near my house. So £1.01 found today and a great start to my May roadkill!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Free sample of posh cat biscuits arrived, one cat couldn't get enough of them but the other turned her nose up! They came with a 50p off coupon that's valid until March 2016 so I'll keep an eye out for when they're on special offer as a treat for non fussy cat.
An ongoing 'small thing' I've just remembered...
I'm still using the calendar in the back of last years diary instead of buying a new one this year (this is a big thing for me as I adore lovely stationery and only like the Paperchase diaries with the elastic round.) I only use the year planner to colour in holidays and write work bookings (far less chance of forgetting something if it's all on the same page !) and the next year planner is always at the back so now I know I can do it I only need to buy a diary on alternate years :T
Wearing make up today for the first time in weeks (I'm such a slob!) and am still using the bottom of my favourite lipstick by digging down with a lip gloss applicator. I have broken out the Clarins foundation I got for £1 in a sale at work last year (I'm more of a Rimmel girl when I'm paying full price :rotfl:) and it's fab!
That has reminded me though that I'm going to miss all the pre Christmas sales on the women's mags this year (the press samples get sold off for charity) which is where I get a lot of Christmas presents really cheapMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

The joint accounts discussion is an interesting one. Having been with OH 15 years this year, we merged our finances very gradually over the first 8 but after we married went the full monty. We still have 3 accounts. Mine. His & the joint. But our seperate accounts are historic really now & the majority of DD payments go from the joint.
However I think we have been lucky that neither of us came to the table with any significant assets/children, so I can only imagine that there are myriad reasons for staying single finances.end of the day whatever works.
Hannah - thank you, it was very slow up to Wednesday then improved finishing with a very busy Friday. I've managed to pay myself three quarters of my monthly needed figure so far so fingers crossed cash flow keeps up." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hi All
Have spent the day retailing! Have been to Dumenmill and run amok. Got 2 rooms of cushions and matching curtains and 2 rugs for the wood floor and come home £585 poorer. Living without curtains last 2 months has been quite odd, so thought I ought to go and buy material, but discovered ready made are now cheaper than material. How wierd it this?
This has been my first wild retail day since before Christmas and it has been fun getting things for our house.
Only thing left really is a king size bed base and I live in hope that ebugs will turn one up for me and some chest of drawers.
Keep saving everyone and having fun.
Maria
p.s. shopping is totally exhausting. Am too tired to put chucks to bed, will send out DH.0 -
Sounds a fun day Maria. You deserve it after all your health issues." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hey everyone, hope the first half of your weekend has gone well.
Aside from slowly coming down with a cold (why can't it just happen in one day and get all done with??), I'm good.
I advertised my URL for GeoLotto on facebook and someone obviously signed up because I had an extra 200 digs today, which was awesome, and pushed me over the £5 limit for withdrawls, so that's another £5.20 in my bank account.
It's funny how that meant hardly anything to me when I was earning regularly but now it's like gold dust!! I think it's mostly the currency exchange rates that have changed my mind about it. Sending money I earn over here to my account seems such a waste once it's done.0 -
Good morning
Well it's a rainy Sunday here. Not too fussed. We are all camped out in the lounge at the moment drinking coffee (us) & eating cheese (son) yes that healthiest of breakfasts. Anyone else have fussy breakfast eaters? OH & I are toast and marmite job done sorts. He, wants bacon, etc which he doesn't often get. Today I offered a grilled cheese toasties as a nice change. He rejects it but is happy to hack wedges off the cheddar and eat those. Sigh.
Oh and the cat has started doing random puddles after 9 years of reliable service. This mornings was right in our bedroom doorway. OH heard him scratching in the night then that. We wonder if another cat has been coming in and that's disturbing him?
Anyway that's enough of the high life.
Ollie- sorry to hear you have a cold.
BB - I gave up chemicals for a long while too. But I found floors the challenge. Keep things minimal still.
Probably won't do much today as we cycled 11 miles in total yesterday between classes & errands..One day of rest self prescribed.
Happy Sunday all.

I certainly didn't expect to get a cold out here in Australia! We've got the fire on now, so that's that and it's nice and warm!
DNMS - That's so cute that she wanted to try! She did well, I hope you can get her out of nappies sooner rather than later! We still have our 4 year old in nappies over night, because he just can't seem to manage not to wet the bed, even when he's being woken up 2/3 times during the night. Often his nappy is dry come morning! Baffling.
Ally - I hope the weather didn't get too bad for you over night. Congrats on being able to convert your CP to a marriage. I'm proud that we as a nation have changed the law. Just hope we can keep being so progressive over so many social topics.
Bob - You always seem so busy! Awesome that you managed to find so much money in roadkill. Can't believe your hoard from February. Perhaps people were too keen to get out of the bad weather and didn't care about picking up after themselves? One of the boys here hates butter on his bread, but will eat it on toast?? Maybe your boy just doesn't like the texture of toast or something.
Bagpuss - Wow, look at those awesome vouchers. Tuna is so expensive and chocolate is just wonderful! Nice one.
Ziggy - How did your attic clean up go?! That's a pretty mammoth task. Whenever I do things like that I end up getting 'stuck' either looking at stuff or trying to organise things.
La esco - Look at you go! That's such a huge difference. It's so good to see things change like that, and actually have evidence of your success. Hope it keeps going so well for you.
Dawn - It's so nice to be able to get paperwork done and dusted. Hope you managed to get it all done.
Hannah - You are totally on track aren't you? That's awesome. £200 already for Christmas/Birthdays. I love that you can do that with Amazon, and through a few survey websites. I wish I were dedicated enough to keep doing them as I get them. Sometimes I'm happy to do surveys all day, but other days I'm just like 'meh'. Kudos to you for doing so many.
VonD - I always told myself I would get a Mr T credit card and ONLY use it to buy groceries for a similar reason - to see how much I've spent and also to get the clubcard points. If you can manage it, it's really beneficial (obviously =P). I started with £200 limit, then they bumped it up to £1000 and now I just try and pay the minimum.Whoops. I'm just as bad with stationery too. I got rid of it all when I left the UK in October, and already I have about 4 different notebooks.
They're just so cute though!
Tash - I hope you've found something to occupy yourself with today. Sundays can go either way. Sometimes I think being too busy is tiring, and not doing anything just feels like a waste! (What about a good book?)
Maria - It's so easy to spend loads of money on house things isn't it? I bought an orange and white throw a few weeks ago, but they had matching pillows I *really* wanted. They were ridiculously expensive though, and somehow I managed to say no to myself! Hope you love the new things in your house, and that you manage to find a bed soon. (What are you sleeping on at the moment?)
BB - After you've done your freezer inventory what do you do with the info you've gathered? I always just-- make a list and then nothing else really happens with it!0 -

I have a super healthy breakfast every day, but on Saturday mornings we have a full grill-up after running and on Sundays we have half a portion of yogurt and fruit followed by a couple of grilled items. Given a choice I would go for cheese on toast every day, though.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0
