Accidentally cancelled Sky

Hi everyone

I wonder if anyone can offer their wisdom/experience.
I recently called up Sky because my Sky Broadband 12 month half price offer was coming to an end and I wanted it to continue.

I spoke to their retention dept who immediately progressed to cancellation. They gave me one offer which wasn't too bad but I still wanted more off, and so I ended up cancelling.

If I called them back before the cancellation date in a fortnight, will I still be able to access the offer they made me before?

I think I would rather go with that than have the hassle of switching!

Thanks

So you didn't accidentally cancel, you deliberately canceled but now have remorse? Seems your bluffing wasn't that good. All you can do is ring them up and hope.

The offer may or may not be there-they certainly are not obliged to 'hold' it for you.
I'd wait another week to see if they come crawling.

All the reports are that the best deals come shortly after the cancellation takes effect for those that don't blink first.

    Thanks all for your replies.

I did indeed cancel on purpose but I didn't call up intending to cancel!

I'm not sure I want to wait until the internet is cut off to see if they'll give me another offer...

    Don't worry.
Wait you will get a call from them in few days.
    I did the same thing.

I have all channels, movies, HD, sports, fibre unlimited, phone etc full on package.
    Only paying £40.

Sky box receives all channels broadcast, its the sky card which blocks/enable you to watch a channel.
So tell them, why not give me for little extra rather than having nothing at all from me.

if the sales person is not helpful.
just hang up and call again and you will be able to speak to some other sale agent.

    Good luck.

    Sky is too pricey.

People are mentioning better offers after cancelling, but if you let cancellation of line and broadband (The OP is referring to these, not tv), to go ahead, without letting another provider take over, you will be hit with disconnection/reconnection fees.
  • Whilst it is obvious that you get the best deals from Sky by threatening to cancel or actually cancelling, you will probably get no offers by ringing them and cancelling your cancellation. By doing this, you're admitting that you need them more than they need you.
