;68371298]Oooh its getting political now. Not a supporter then?

Im only arrogant when encountered by people on this forum think they;re better than everyone else.
Far from it - I've always said that the one thing I love about the NHS is that they're primarily interested in what's wrong with you rather than your CC details when you visit.

But Paul people in the NHS are going to have to take their rose tinted glasses off and yes I do believe that new entrants t&cs will be altered....because if I was looking to save money that's where I would start.

Yes I agree and I think its started. I've also always said that public sector staff need to stop moaning about their pension because they've had it good for so long and its just not sustainable now.

But you do have to be careful. The NHS is poor enough as it is. The pays not the best but the holidays/pension are. If we're not careful the best people will choose to work elsewhere and the leftovers will end up working for the nhs.

Happens at the moment in my line of work (IT Consultancy). Due to pay rates you'll often find most people will try to avoid.

Not irrelevant at all, and the fact you won't answer speaks volumes. I'm suggesting people should not manipulate the system.

I used to work in the NHS. When I became too sick to continue I resigned, I didn't keep on a merry go round exhausting my various entitlements.

And you wonder why public sector workers have a bad name - yes, because of people like you.

Are you disabled now?
• Thanks to people like your missus. The days of the NHS are numbered.

More money spent. More waste. More staff in it for wages, pension and perks than service.

You have just over half a month to go, before the money stops.

I'm assuming it's your class background that makes you think this way.

Although really, there isn't much wrong with wanting a decent wage, so you don't have to have your wages subsidised by the state.

Look at this reply... It's like something a toddler in a grown persons body would say.

I bet your wife is sick of you after all these years, as she probably feels like she's been raising a husband.

I work in HR in the NHS and only in cases of terminal illness have we ever extended pay beyond 12 months. We would usually have dismissed at the end of the 12th month if there was no prospect of an immediate return to work.
Has a final review meeting taken place yet? If not then half pay should be re-instated until this time and this is usually the dismissal meeting at our place.
I don't know your wife's circumstances not having read your other posts but I often find that if someone has been off work that long they do not want to return and welcome the dismissal.
The AFC handbook states as below regarding discretion to extend:
Section 14.12 Employers will also have discretion to extend the period of sick pay on full or half pay beyond the scale set out in paragraph 14.2 in this Section:
 where there is the expectation of return to work in the short term and an extension would materially support a return and/or assist recovery, particular consideration should be given to those staff without full sick pay entitlements;
 in any other circumstance that the employer deems reasonable.

Yes it does seem normal that it only goes to 12 months. At last someone answering the question.

She does want to go back to work but its going to have to be in a different department doing something slightly different. As such, shes now officially started the 12 week redeployment phase where both her and employer are looking for alternatives.

Now, it looks like all pay will run out end June so there will be time with zero pay. Looks like if nothing is forthcoming its likely to be termination after that.
