Capital 2 coast parking charge.

Long story short, I live in a flat that has a residents car park attached, spaces are first come first served and these clowns have been "manageing" it for the past 3 years. The landlord is the local council. In the past we have always had our permit sent by post - often upto 2 weeks after the expiry date of 31st march so TBH I never thought anything of it that the new permit had not arrived.

Roll on the weekend I go to the car and find a PCN demanding £100. I sent an appeal which was dismissed - there's a surprise! I have a letter from the Landlord admitting to the admin error, but C2C want there cash!!

Is there anything I can do? I am confused by the POPLA scheme and keep getting conflicting advice. Part of me just wants to pay up so they will go away, I have already been threatened with debt collectors and court, this is the last thing I want after struggling to get my debts paid off, I don't want to have this on my credit file. But the other part of me wants to fight this but everything seems in favour of C2C.

So far I have sent the copy of the letter from the Landlord recorded delivery to C2C with their rejection of appeal letter asking them to repeal the decision. Would it pay me to get one of the companies who offer to fight PCN's for £16? I struggle with paperwork TBH.

Many, many thanks.

debt collectors can threaten all they want , but they are not going to get your money , chill out

Hi Freddy, I did indeed send them a copy, I have keep the original and all their threatening letters too. They are saying I am in contravention of "failure to display a permit" and the letter went on to say that I should have rung them to get a permit.....BUT it is my landlord - the local council that issue the permits, so how the hell would ringing C2C have helped my case?!! The rejection of appeal letter says I cannot enter in anymore correspondence and MUST pay or face court and debt collection. I have complained to the council too.

"MUST pay or face court and debt collection"

big words from a little weasel ,

DO NOT RING OR WRITE TO DEBT COLLECTORS

your landlord (as there bosses) SHOULD be able to ring or email then to tell them to cancel the invoice , as they were at fault ,

call or go into the council and TELL them to contact C2C and cancel the charge ,

PS , DO NOT ring or email weasel's either

C2C are not a member of any ATA AOS (don't ask, look at the NEWBIES sticky). Formerly a BPA AOS member, jumped ship to the IPC AOS, but left in January 2015.

Short of you contacting them, they had absolutely no access to any of your personal data from the DVLA. They could not possibly have identified you, or contacted you.

But presumably you've given them your name and address? You just need to weather the storm of the likely blizzard of PPC and/or debt collector letters over the next 12 - 18 months.

Freddy - what have Sussex Security or Ethical Parking Solutions anything to do with this? Please check out the IPC/BPA AOS list before dispensing 'advice'. It's not rocket science, but you are sending OPs up dead ends that could prove very costly to them. If you're going to advise them such, please guarantee them that you will underwrite any errors they make as a result of your inexperience here.

As I've said before, I admire your enthusiasm, but going around like a primate with a machine gun won't help anyone!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I have just followed your posting with exactly the same info about there IPC membership ,

as far as I can determine they are all in the same group , the failure here is that the OP challenged them before seeking assistance.

if you want to continue slagging me off then I also will withdraw from adding any comment to threads on this forum

I haven't 'slagged you off'; I've said on numerous threads that I admire your enthusiasm, but you seem to fire from the hip without much thought, backing or understanding for what you are saying.

Don't forget that newbies are very new to much of this, and to most of them, the one-eyed man is always King in the blind home. Dangerous position to be in.

If you want to 'walk' that's up to you, but please be sure that I've never 'slagged you off'!

    Grow up!
