Pick up the phone them. A better use of your time.

Rather than wasting other peoples that may find you waiting even longer. As being intentionally annoying has it's downsides.

Maybe. But better than just sitting around waiting for them to do anything about it.

I will pick up the phone. Thanks for your advice!

    Very true!

This isn't a company that's made a mistake that you want fixed. You want this company to help you to fix a problem that your mum has created. Do you really think they're going to do that more quickly because you're annoying?

Your mum paying it in full will not remove the default, it will remain on for the full 6 years but be marked as satisfied.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Maybe you can come to a deal.

Pay in full on condition the Default is removed, fully explain the situation.

Last week I had a default removed from a mobile company,I had already paid them five years ago,but I sent a polite email requesting the removal, within two days they emailed me with the good news,
They amended the data removing all late payment markers.Showed up on all CRA files within 24 hours.
So it can be done and in my opinion it's better to be polite, after all these are just ordinary human beings.
    Good luck

the OP's Mum committed fraud using the OP's birth name. Once investigated and shown to be fraud the default will be removed.

Hassling the company day in-day out will only just annoy them more and may confuse matters.

Remember, they haven't done anything wrong - your mum has - she committed fraud!

So stop having a pop at everyone else (like the company who is also a recipient of the fraud or the brokers giving free advice on MSE etc) and direct your anger towards the real villain - your mum.

In the meantime, if you don't want to use a broker - get on the phone as someone else has suggested and do the ground work yourself.

But - you seem to have an attitude problem and need to step back and realise that the only one at fault is your mum and that the company is also a victim in all of this. Try to direct the blame ONLY where it is due.
