Oh deary me, it looks like Carcraft have gone bust
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-32538820

Couldn't have happened to a nicer company!

I wonder what could have contributed to their downfall? Could it be their customer service oriented sales staff? Let's see...
The exit's over there!

Does anyone have any Carcraft related stories? Would anyone use their Carcraft buying experience to teach up-and-coming entrepreneurs how not to engage with customers, win repeat business and improve market reputation?

If anyone would care to write their obituary, please post below :)

I'm saddened for those people who have lost their jobs, but not so much for the company based on how they targeted the weak.

Why? Because when lots of people lose their jobs it affects us all.

I feel sorry for the ones who bought a car in the last few weeks to discover a problem only to find the inflated warranty or the "promises" made to fix are now nil and void.

The finance company will not want to know and many could face a car too costly to repair and misery.

The finance company may have no choice in the matter - they'll be jointly liable with the seller for the performance of the contract, including any warranty terms. (Consumer Credit Act).

You can't libel the dead, so once a company is dead, you can say what you want. If the entity is still alive, one has privilege of justification (that what one published is true) and of fair comment (that the comments were based on fact, made in good faith, published without malice and on a matter of public interest). Libel is a form of written defamation published in a manner which causes them loss in their trade or profession, or causes a reasonable person to think worse of him, her or them.

If Carcraft is in administration, they can suffer no loss in their trade or profession as this has now ceased anyway. A reasonable person cannot think worse of them as the administrators have already published that Carcraft have already suffered from "poor market reputation".

don't blame Carcraft blame the stupidity of the customers who gave them business. Otherwise the business model would not work.
