I have some sympathy with what you've suffered as i own the same car, and approx same age.
I think a lot of your issues are the fact your dealer appears to be a bit crap and that Nissan UK are not much better.
Trying to stay on what you've mentioned.
The "vent" rattle - i had that on mine(assuming it started on the passenger one).
It's 100% fixable, although it took 2 goes to sort it fully.
The "anti collision" issue was fixed under a software update, although the only issues I've ever had with the system as it's inability to cope with snow.
Did they update the software and is it not "resolved"?
I also had rattles from badly fitted door cards. These were also fixed at the second attempt.
Is that something you also suffer with and was it dealt with?
The other vibrations you speak of may, or may not be, down to other known defects.
Off the top of my head:-
Airbox comes lose due to a "crappy" retaining clip. Easy fix and is a known defect.
Heatshield not correctly secured (again similar issue with an easy / known fix).
2 cables in the door coming into contact and "resonating". Also a known fault with an easy fix.
Issues with noise from the steering is to do with a dry joint and can be "fixed" with the application of lubrication.
There is a similar issue on the suspension to do the cold and a lack of lubrication.
There are other issues on the model, but most are "fixable". The only serious issue/failure I'm aware of is with the CVT gearbox and a fair few cars were shipped with crappy batteries.0 -
Been an interesting read, this thread. In my neck of the woods not a million miles from the Nissan factory, you can't move for Cashbacks and Jokes on the road, seeing as so many employees make the most of their friends and family discount. I suppose the savings must offset the French build quality.0

Obviously, being in the same area, I share your surprise - I think the difference being that those who work there and are actually interested in cars won't drive the product, but there's a lot of people in the factory who don't give a !!!! what they drive, and that lack of interest in cars in general is then reflected in the quality of what they knock together on the line!0 -

Hello matey, I will see if I can reply to some
Nothing on that side, although I had read about those.I have some sympathy with what you've suffered as i own the same car, and approx same age.

The vent rattle on mine started on the passenger side, then the driver side, then the centre ones and now the slots below the wind screen for desisting, 4 attempts on all so far
The "anti collision" issue was fixed under a software update, although the only issues I've ever had with the system as it's inability to cope with snow.

Had the updates, I was tolled ints not a full fix as Nissan are still working on it, mine still go off now and again in the dry when theres nothing in front or to the sides of me, so maybe be still thinking its still seeing something, I have noticed the anti collision warning seems to be more sensitive though, A good thing, even the mechanic had a giggle at it on a test drive, as it went off twice, and we were not going to fast or to close, but its not something you really want to to try to see if its working do you
I also had rattles from badly fitted door cards. These were also fixed at the second attempt.
No noise from door cards, however they do flex quite a bit when winding the windows up and down, again from what I have read a few people have had this fixed, so yes fixable, but that has never worried me.
Is that something you also suffer with and was it dealt with?
see above.
The other vibrations you speak of may, or may not be, down to other known defects.
I have had one terrible vibration noise on pull off from a hill, that they have never been able to replicate, which has been really annoying, on the last statement from the dealership, I was tolled that this would be the last time they would try to look for it, after that it would be up to be to get a report from the AA/RAC etc to prove that there was indeed a problem. on the last time, (the 4 week they have just had it in), the mechanic said he found that the windscreen demister vent panel was making one hell of a noise and was horrendous (his exact words not mine for the grammar or problem part listed police.
He too it all off as part of the dash removal for the other issues put some mounting foam on the mounting point and hey presto, no more noise apart from a small rattle and buzzing
Off the top of my head:-
Airbox comes lose due to a "crappy" retaining clip. Easy fix and is a known defect.
it had already had the self tapping screw fix when I took delivery of the car
Heatshield not correctly secured (again similar issue with an easy / known fix).
Had that done "around" 3 months after getting the car
2 cables in the door coming into contact and "resonating". Also a known fault with an easy fix.
I have not had that, just the chink chink sound from some parts to do with the anti tamper proof parts
Issues with noise from the steering is to do with a dry joint and can be "fixed" with the application of lubrication.
Just had this done as part of another fix, He did say again not one of the best parts he had seen...well in fact two of the mechanics they had working on my car together over the last 4 weeks. Top bloke mind you, very nice to chat to etc.
There is a similar issue on the suspension to do the cold and a lack of lubrication.
Mine has only just started to happen in the last few days, I put it down to it having been a few dry-ish weeks we have had, I will just mention it to them
There are other issues on the model, but most are "fixable". The only serious issue/failure I'm aware of is with the CVT gearbox and a fair few cars were shipped with crappy batteries.
Dont get me wrong, I still love the look of the car, seats are really comfy indeed, info screen could have been a litle high up the dash, but no biggy, you get the information on the small info screen anyway.
My two 11 year os always have a bit of a giggle on our way to school because on certain parts where we always have to slow down the front sensors always like to talk to the bushes on the verge..
Since the current (try to fix the vent rattles, have just made them worse and brought up new ones.(you yourself know how annoying these ones can be, not something you have to listen for.. the end caps on the dash also vibrate, but an easy fix for them with mounting foam.
I forgot. my auto brake release failed 4 times. Twice on me and twice when my wife was driving, and I was with her on both occasions, the once was pulling form my cul-de-sac where I live, so no need to rush etc to go, two twice yesterday on a hill start from traffic lights, at no biting point or rev would make them release, and when they eventually did (without manual release) did the hill start assist hold, and we rolled back a small amount until I slammed on the brakes, the look on one of the ladies behind me was interesting though.
My dealer has been chosen as the only dealership in south wales to maintain the GTR, and I have had both mechanics from that side working on my car
From an email last night on another qashqai forum, I have taken up the offer of help and advice from one of the Jaguar general managers (who I mentioned in an earlier post) who's wife also owns TWO!!, one fine and dandy and the other with the same old rattles.
He did mention that in a lot of cases the dealer (or Nissan UK) will also offer to input a certain amount of cash to help with the exchange, (but not always)
I will keep this thread updated...wish me lots and lots of luck
