FizzWhizz , I echo all well wishes :) Sorry a bit late.

Just UU'ed Shea body butter from Body Shop - WBA definitely once I'm out of body butters / lotions...In 2 years time?

V05 - Give Me Moisture shampoo. Last year I had my hair bleached and it dried out badly. This was the only shampoo worked and I still have a few bottles in my stash. Great value for money too. I will keep buying.

Impulse Deodorant & Perfume. It ended its' life as room spray. WNBA probably. It was £1 purchase when I was running somewhere and forget to use perfume.

LEMON by Mary Greenwell perfume sample. Was from Glossybox and decided to use it. Not my type of scent. However probably suitable for summer.

On a separate point, I wonder whether you use your fingers a sponge or a brush for foundation? I have been using a sponge for a while and I'm unsure whether brush would be better. Sponge i think needs replacing now and I have a Real Techniques foundation brush.

FizzWhizz - your poor OH. I'm not surprised he's sore. What a relief he's through the op though. I hope it's the last one he needs and that he recovers quickly :) On a slightly less important note, I'm glad the Infallible Matte foundation worked for you! :rotfl: I have no idea why my skin can't get on with it...

Lovely to see you back, Sundaysgirl - :T for having so many UUs :D

momobingu - this has been my most successful month as well. Hopefully we can both keep going like this :)

asajj - I fear I have about two years worth of body lotion as well

    Ailurophile - what a lucky find :)

I've had a bumpy couple of days. I really wanted to buy something. I'd love to know why the feeling was triggered. It was so powerful. I was well aware of the fact that I didn't need anything but the urge to buy something new was really insistent. I didn't cave! :j Had I been out and about it might have been another story. I just find it weird that even when I'm doing well and am happy to be using things up that that feeling can come out of nowhere.

No UUs to report but I sorted through my lip products and found four things to TA as they were either shockingly old or clearly the wrong colour. (I also TA 3 old brushes that were very coarse.) I chose about 10 lip glosses to focus on and put the rest back in a box so I can ignore the problem for a bit longer! :rotfl: I need to just get rid of more as I will never be able to use them up and some are pretty old (they do seem ok, though). I'm thinking about choosing my favourites and once I reach a certain number just accepting that the rest needs to go. (Ha! Just writing that idea down makes me feel )

Does anyone have any good strategies for working out what to keep and what to bin, makeup wise? I seem to only be able to part with a small amount of items at a time...

    Morning all
Just been through my lips drawer and have made the decision to TA 10 of them. They are all part used and some have that plasticine smell. They are colours I won't wear again and there are 27 keepers to choose from so I won't go short
7 bottles of nail polish I won't use are also on the GA shelf, I'll offer them to a work friend and if not they'll go to the school summer fete.

You're much more decisive than I am! :T

ETA I've just chucked 12 lippies. That's 16 in two days :-) (I have far more than 27 left though so it's an ongoing process...)

Sold 3x Perfumes, so that's 3 more items out the door. Made a little something, hope to keep it as long as possible!

Day off and now ready to have an early pamper before dinner.

    Have a good weekend!

  • Everyone is doing so well this month, especially with getting rid of lippy products! :) I, on the other hand, am having a veeery slow month. I don't count things I don't stash like shampoo, deodorant and shaving cream, so whilst I'm using some things up, I don't count them on here. I think June will be a more productive month!

Anyway, I have one UU which will be my last for May:

Superdrug Skin Soft Gentle Moisturising Cream 75ml: This was a discontinued item and was nice enough. WNBA even if I could.

FizzWhizz: Glad to hear your DH got through his surgery okay. I hope he's on the mend soon!

Sundaysgirl: Good to see you back, and well done on all of your UUs!

Glad your hubby's op went well FizzWhizz...best wishes on a speedy recovery!

Hello again Sundaysgirl nice to see you and your excellent UU's!

Ailurophile I'd be terrible if I worked in a charity shop...can't resist a bargain even if it's something I don't need!

Asajj I use fingers to apply, but I use CC cream so don't know if it would be any different? IMO it has much the same texture as a liquid foundation, I just find I can get more control from fingers rather than a sponge or brush but definitely does depend on the product.

Willowbee Big well done for not buying when the craving hit! I find I have periods of time where I will hardly spend anything and then once i've treated myself once the floodgates open and I end up having a bit of a spree. But similarly I can't tell you why the urge to spend hits, it's a craving similar to sugar I guess. Tricks of the mind! Hard to give up the thoughts though.

On to the UU's, there's only 2 but i've had a fair few this month so can't complain:

Lancome bi-facil eye make-up remover 200ml - WBA and have got another ready.

Clinique smart serum - WBA - sad to see this go, definitely considering repurchasing if I notice a big difference not using it.

    Two UUs
A bar of shield soap. Still lots of soaps in the stash so haven't got to buy yet.
Finally finished a blusher off I've had it forever - the lid snapped off a couple of years ago and the last few weeks I've had to scrape some loose with the end off the brush, but it's all god now so another has been I brought forth from the stash.
Dread to think how long it will be before I actually need to buy any more make up.

Well I have been following 'afar off' even though I haven't kept up with the posting I have been slowly making my way through the toiletries.

    UU
Botanics nourishing body butter. Ok, not keen on the smell. WNBA
St Ives Q10 age defying lip treatment. Usually a fan of St.Ives products, though they seem to be harder to find these days (except for the apricot scrub) While it was nice, it was really just a luxurious lip balm, I don't feel it made my lips any younger! WNBA
Evian Affinity Holiday Skin. Like this and WBA
M&S mini travel kit - sweet fig body lotion, lemon body wash and coconut body scrub. Nice enough but I have never been bowled over by the quality of these minis. They were a gift but I don't think I would buy for myself.
Body Shop Pomegranate Firming Night Cream. This was part of a Christmas gift from DD. While it was lovely I don't think it did anything my Aldi night cream does for a lot less money. Now she knows I want the cheek and lip tint from BS next Cmas;)
Herbal Essences light reflecting serum. Lovely stuff, would buy it for the smell alone, but does smooth out my frizz prone hair.

    GA
J2O apple and raspberry lip balm. Lovely stuff, just the colour was too deep for me so gave it to my darker haired daughter. She loves all the J2O lip balms!

I have just finished a shower and counted 13 assorted bottles of shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. I live with 2, sometimes 3 teen girls. For some reason they all believe when the bottle gets down to the last inch, the shampoo/conditioner/bodywash stops working!
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

I have a few GA and INS...

    GA to mum
    1) Collection 2000 shimmer (I had two)
    2) Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze (love this but want mum to try it)
    3) Calvin Klien Lipstick in Victorious (Love this but I have too many lippies and it suits my mum better)
    4) Calvin Klien Lipstick in Eros (Love this but suits mum more than me..both lippies are good shades for everyday wear).

    INS

    1) Makeup Gallery Foundation. Like the packaging but it felt a bit empty even though it was sealed. It has very sheer coverage more like a BB cream so will do on one of my off days. But it works really good as a primer for my dry skin as it has Vitamin E in it. I bought it for when I go on holiday but I'm keen to start using it...hopefully it lasts...even though it says 30ml..it feels really less...

    2) MakeupGallery Lipstick in a pink fuchsia shade...this was my sisters fault I managed to pick up the exact same shade of lipstick that I've used up twice earlier this year (of other brands) but I really like the formula of these...tempted to buy more but I re did my inventory and no no no I have enough....
