what's the scrap value of a 1.5m AC cord?

I have a spare set of wheels for my winter tyres, sat in my back garden behind the veg patch, i've become concerned recently as the kids next door keep coming into my garden to retrieve balls (which I don't mind), but they keep leaving the gate unlatched and swinging in the wind, which as well as damaging the hinges, leaves my wheels on full view when the pike people come around looking for scrap

I also have to shut my garage when I go into the house for 2 mins, because these vans roll up at all times of the day and I have a garage full of parts/tools.
An old colleague once had a set of new body panels for a LandRover defender stolen from his garage by these people, in the space of about 5 minutes.
