I suspect some scrote just vandalised it to annoy you, not realising it was about to be scrapped0 -
Couldn’t find a WANTED / SWAP / SALE section on the forum so thought I’d post here. Hope thats ok.
Anyhow, I have for sale a 2w mains flex approx 1.5 metres in length. It comes complete with a standard 3 pin plug fused at 3A. The other end is bare for connection to appliance. It would be ideal as a replacement for household shredder or similar. The item is untested, so is to be sold as seen, but appears to be in good condition. All offers considered.0 -

19.689p , last time I stole one0 -
LMAO, this is getting silly.....
I guarantee some old bloke from down the road walked past and took it, probably for the plug.
Back in the day, when appliances didn't come with plugs fitted, people always removed plugs from old appliances before throwing them. My folks have a draw full of old mains plugs. Even some of the old round pin style.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

If someone wanted just the plug, wouldn't they cut it off at the plug end, not the shredder end?No free lunch, and no free laptop0

maybe they wanted to make a 1.5m extension lead up?0

Then you found you hadn't and "borrowed" the plug off something else and decided to get a new plug next time you were shopping... which you promptly forgot.
Then you wanted to use the thing with no plug...
Repeat until something burned out and you salvaged the plug.
Yes in those days with all the practice we were all dab hands at fitting plugs.0 -
I'll bet it hasn't even occurred to some young people that appliances once came plugless. Imagine the outcry if somebody dared to propose the repeal of that law!Fightsback wrote: »Roughly 150,000 people die every day worldwide, all of them special to someone without appearing on the news.0

Actually not that hard to believe. Got rid of several items a few years ago due to kitchen renovation. As per usual a couple of chaps came and offered to remove metal items for scrap. One of them even picked up bits of old electrical cord that were only a few centimetres long! As they say ''Every Lidl helps''. So a 1.5m cord would've been gold to them.
Where I live, if you leave anything out in your back yard that is even vaguely metallic, it will be taken by scrap metal dealers. Most do have the courtesy to knock on my door and ask. However, a few times I have left something out that I was discarding and it has vanished within the hour.0 -

The culprits were fairly easy to guess at given there was a "scrap metal dealer" encampment on some council land nearby.0
