I would be happy to do this, if it were me - no more arduous than when I dig them up for summer storage and multiplication anyway ...
I would be gutted, too, OP - ultimately how I would react would depend on how well the flowers I received fit into my garden landscape. If I could live with it, then I would probably forget about the mistake. Then again, I have a mad mish mash of colours in my garden these days as many tulips have hybridized or gone feral where I didn't dig them up for the summer. I make more effort nowadays0 -

Yes I was going to post similar to this, I guess there's not many gardeners on here. People can take time doing garden plans and colour schemes and having something turn out the wrong colour could be disappointing. There are price differences between colour and varieties, it's not just a case of oh it's the same plant, some tulips look completely different. You probably could open a snad claim in paypal and return them for a refund or just decide not to use that seller again. And to the people who say would you go back to a garden centre if something was the wrong variety then yes, lots of people would and I think most Garden Centres would be pretty apologetic about it.
Have they all flowered yet btw? Cos if they are all the wrong one the sellers reply is not very likely that they all reverted.0 -
I'm not so sure about the garden centre being any better. My mum bought 48 plug plant violas a couple of years back and when they eventually flowered not one of them were the colours they were labelled as. She did go back and tell the garden centre (local independent), but they put the blame onto the supplier and said there was nothing they could do about it.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
These are a hybrid tulip so quite often especially with the smaller sizes they can revert to one of their original varieties
So as they grow larger they will turn into what you ordered? Spectacularly implausible! But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

On a related note of it will take so long to flower the buyer won't be able to complain effectively have you noticed people on ebay claiming to sell rainbow rose seed complete with photos of those injected roses? But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Precisely ! I don't think I am being petty at all. If I wanted a random colour and variety then I would have closed my eyes and clicked "buy".
We spend a lot of time in our garden and to spend £ 16 on tulips was a relatively large investment for us to make on bulbs so I think I am entitled to receive what I paid for.
Surely the seller has a legal right to sell what they are advertising ?
They are days away from flowering and they are ALL the same colour/variety.No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -

If you feel so aggrieved, open a case through paypal.0
