Hi RP
My first thought is, do you absolutely have to continue the subscription or could you skip it for a year and see how you feel next year?
I gave up our National Trust membership begrudgingly after 6 years, this year as I just didnt want to spend £130 outright. And as we gave up our car 2 years ago have struggled to get to the places anyway. I did feel a bit sad but theres nothing stopping us going back to it at some point.
It is very hard when life feels 2 steps forward 4 steps back but you do have to keep trying because over time you will go forward. Its like they say in investments, over a month you may not see movement but over 12 months, 2 years, 5 years etc the positive will be seen. If you give up because its too hard it will always be too hard but working away at it will ensure that some day you will get to your goal.
Hope that doesn't sound preachy or annoying. Everyone on here has days like you describe. Keep kicking!

Thanks bob and no don't worry you don't sound preachy you make a lot of sense.
I thought the same as you initially, it's a lot of money to find in 8 weeks. And especially when it's not essential.
I've decided to treat it like a bill, can I pad £500 in 8 weeks? I'm applying the 1% theory from that thread, and it's made me realise that if I can save up that amount every month I could be debt free much quicker.
I'm under no obligation to continue the membership so if I don't have it we won't continue this year x

Rexel once yo have found your way around the boards why dont you start a DF diary?? Often helps to get it all down on the screen and you can track your progress and lots of helpful people will be along to give you hot hints and tips, advice and encouragement and a big but kindly kick up the arris when you need itof course there are some not so nice people around ( not on this thread).........but they can be ignored:p
