We booked flights with Easyjet 26 hours ago and made one of the party stated they no longer wish to go. I am shiocked they will offer no refund for the flight?!?!?! What is that all about? Is there no internet cooling off period?

the 24 hour refund policy is referenced in 6.2 of the T&Cs - are you saying they are refusing any refund, you should get a refund minus cancellation fee according to this

It is now past the 24 hour deadline. 30 hours ago I made them :( I dont get how this can even be close to legal?

How can I cancel my booking?

easyJet is a non-refundable airline but in exceptional circumstances, like an unfortunate event such as a family bereavement, we will offer you a refund which may be in the form of an easyJet Flight Voucher to be used against future travel with easyJet.

Half an hour ago you said you'd booked them 16 hours ago.

    Why not?

Consumer legislation rarely offers the right to a refund just because you no longer want the goods or services. There are exceptions, but booking flights isn't one of them.

Put 1 and 1 together and work out the error, surely you can manage that? You are a big boy I assume? It should read 26 hours not 16!! I am generalising the time but I can get it to the closest second if you would prefer?

Contrary to what you believe, online, consumers do indeed have ample rights of cooling off periods in most areas. Only these cheap rip off airlines seem to be the ones who are forever charging people excess.

I am fortunate most of my flights are either paid by my company or are longhaul where you get a far better service and ironically mile for mile, considerably cheap airfares!

I personally don't see the refusal to refund anything more than yet another rip off by these small airlines! BA, KLM Emirates, Etihad, Qatar etc etc all offer refunds!

Actually if you had booked a non refundable fare on any of those airlines you would have had exactly the same result!

If you type 16 that's what I and other readers have to go off. If 24 is a key number and you've typed 16 and 30 in different posts I think it's worth clarifying. I won't have been the only one baffled. So there's no need to be a !!!!!! about it.

Where goods are delivered. You, on the other hand, weren't buying a product that you can hold in your hand and assess as being different to the pretty picture you saw online.

If you walk into a shop and buy something you have no legal right to return it if you just don't like it a few hours later.

Rip off. Except they tell you in the terms and conditions that you say you read before buying.

All these airlines have non-cancellable fares. I'd hazard a guess that the majority of economy tickets sold directly to consumers fall into this bracket.

    ---
From a dummy booking on British Airways themselves:

If you want to cancel your flight:
There are no refunds except for any government & airport taxes

    ---
    From a dummy Qatar booking:

    Cancellation - Non-refundable
    ---
From a dummy booking on KLM:

    Cancellation is not permitted
    ---
From Easyjet - a slightly more generous condition:

If You cancel Your Booking 24 hours after You have made the Booking, no refund will be paid
    ---
I'll let you investigate the others. But it's fairly clear that non-refundable booking conditions are commonplace.

That's all I wanted to know! If it was legally acceptable or not. Just about everywhere else there are reasonable cooling off periods and refunds available. I find it simply bizarre this is not the case in this instance. I personally see know reason for trolling and trying to belittle the question. Usual sado's who seriously need to get themselves a life!

    Thank you.
