Barry Beavis has now launched an appeal for funds to enable him to get his Supreme Court appeal under way. This is not for legal costs, but for the court fees.

The fee for lodging a Notice of Appeal at the Supreme Court is £1,600. The fee for lodging the Appellant's Bundle is a snip at only £4,500.

He has 42 days in which to lodge a Notice of Appeal.

His message below:

Guys

I want to appeal. If you're up for it?

I recognise this will take money. I have begun asking for contributions and commenced a campaign.

See here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/supreme-court-appeal-to-beat-the-parking-bullies/x/10605292

If you are able to circulate this, I should be grateful.

Thank you
Regards

Barry Beavis

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. Well he could just pay the £150 PE claim or whatever it is and walk away. Is that what you want?

He's going to have to spend a large amount of his own money too and put himself at risk of costs being awarded. I think he's asking for too little. If he raised more he could hire some real lawyers instead of relying on the ineffective pro-bono charity cases.

There is no chance of costs being awarded. His not-a-real-lawyer for the CoA case was actually a QC.

And from all accounts I've heard, not a very good one.

You'd better stump up £30,000 so he can get one who meets your approval then.

I expect that The Mail and the CA will contribute very generously.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

I'm sure he'd have no trouble raising that amount of he asked

Maybe, but then you wouldn't get to use your wealth of knowledge and experience to pick his QC for him.
