Wheel fell off car on motorway

Comment about tyre blowouts "just happening" was probably a bit rash by me tbh.
I was also a bit surprised how little damage there was when I got out of the car and was also surprised that whilst spinning and out of control I managed to avoid (by sheer luck) hitting the other traffic.
Once I hit the barrier the car stopped spinning and just carried on sliding down the drivers side.
The barrier was on a bridge with another A road directly below.
For a split second I thought I was going to flip over the barrier and end up on the carriageway below.0 -

Is this just a straightforward insurance claim?0
-
Well there is some 'good news' if you want to call it that, in that now its just a straight forward insurance claim which should get you all sorted.
I hope they don't mess you around too much and get you back on the road soon.0 -
One things for sure - those barriers are there for a purpose and they did the job for me0

I was a bit concerned at the time that the Highway agency didn't check the road for possible debris that may have caused the blowout.
The police didn't turn up either - but I understand that this is sometimes the case when nobody else is involved or injured0 -
The tyre may very well have been damaged miles up the road - perhaps not even that day.0
