lets hope if they do declare it total loss they offer you a fair market price for it

I've already done plenty of research in terms of what the FOS guidelines are in such circumstances and also what similar vehicles cost so hopefully everything will work out okay

I received a call from the repair garage today....apparently its going to cost c. £5.8k to repair.....they are just waiting for my insurer to give the go ahead or not!!
I get the feeling it may be written off!
I'd be surprised if they did, tbh. What did you pay for it two months ago?

Very unlikely to write it off for less than half that, then - even though you can't expect quite full dealer retail back.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't written off. Two bites at the central reservation front and rear will have an assessor falling on the probabilities of future warranty repairs after a fix and put a cat c on it.

I should be hearing back from the insurer/garage within the next few working days - so we will see

I'd expect them to fix it tbh

But will certainly be interested to see how this pans out

I've not heard anything back from insurer/garage yet.
They did say I should expect to hear back by close of play Friday.
At least I have a courtesy car though

Who's covering the cost of that? Are you dealing direct with your insurer or through a claims company?

(There have been stories of people getting stung for courtesy car costs. I'm sure others here will be able to clarify and advise on this).
