    What you gonna do?
Well to be honest I asked a mate who has real dreads and she said wash my hair, and twiddle wax into the dred bits to make them, well, more like dreds...
I rather like it to be honest.....all I need now is for someone to mistake me for bleedin Swampy !!
And a matching caribean holiday tan to go with the `do' would be nice as well :D:D:D

  • I always go red/purple when I dye my hair (usually a semi-permanant whatever's on offer!!) as I only get my hair cut and dyed professionally when I visit a friend who is a hairdresser (about 1-2 times per year!)

Anyway, I think I can trump your hairdressing disaster.......about 5 years ago I bought a highlighting kit that gaves electric blue highlights, borrowed a cap from a friend so I would have lots of fine highlights, and popped down to my moms so she could pull my hair through the cap and I could sit and chat while we waited for my stunning blue highlights to happen..........as my mom is rinsing my hair, she says..."oooohhh they look great".......then a couple of minutes later starts laughing.........I don't like the sound of that I think.....then she says "the blue is washing straight out".......I finally give my hair a rub to dry it, look in the mirror and I have my natural brown hair with silver highlights (looked like I'd gone completely grey!) in places, along with some blond highlights, and at the roots, and just in random places ginger.....not just red, but bright orange!! I just look in the mirror in shock before bursting out laughing.........its 8.30pm on a sunday night....so I nip down the stop-and-shop and ask if they do any colours, even just the shampoo style one wash things...nope.......nowhere open at all........I look like a demented tortoiseshell cat and I can't find anywhere to dye over the top of it!!

Next day to go to work (as a deputy manager of a building society) I had to wear the front of my chin length hair in two little bunches on the top of my head, as there was no other way of disguising it.....I now looked like a demented 5 year old child.......thankfully a customer came in who was a hairdresser, I ask her what can I do....show her my hair.....she laughs....and suggests I never try home higlighting kits again (like I would!!) then tells me to go to boots, find a mid brown semi and put it on, and it worked!!

I went back to work the next day with glossy brown hair again, but £12 worse off................LOL!

Lessons learnt: 1) Never colour your hair on a Sunday evening and 2)Always have a mid brown semi for emergencies!
I believe that I have the strength to make my dreams come true

  • Oh wannabe you have just made me laugh so much, the vision of the demented tortoishell cat is a classic! Also the sight of you with bunches in the very sophisticated world of banking - lol!!!

Sassers yours sounds kind of cool to me - but then I've got burgundy hair so I think we must be trend setters!!!
Rayday that 70's flick thing - think Farah Fawcett in Charlies Angels - is becoming all the rage so you could be a trend setter too.

In fact you, me and Sasser could become Martins Angels - how cool would that be!!

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh what could have been such a bad day has actually been reasonable because of you lot! Thanks.

now dont know weather everyone wil jump down my throat at this one, maybe proff hairdresses?!!but, when i had dyed my hair from blond to brown and ended up a burgendy colour, not a colour i liked,i went to a friend who works in a hairdresses and she offered me to have a peroxide shampoo, little boi of peroxide and shampoo mixed together and applyed through hair ,rinsed out and well conditioned afterwards,it got rid of the 3 previous colours i had put on my hair then she toned the colour left,i ended up with a nice nbrown colour.

I am dark brown now and would never go back to blonde,to much maintainence for me,so i buy a nutrisse colour and do it myself every 4-6 weeks and everyone says its nice to ill stick with it!

as i said not really something you should reccommened but if you are really stuck and need it out fast/cant afford the hairdresses?then it works.
appreciate what you have got x

I dyed my bleached blonde hair darker once and ended up with green hair. No matter how many dark brown hair dyes I put over the top, within weeks, it lost its colour and went back to green again. I learned my lesson and now I leave my hair colourings to a hairdresser.
