What do you call "a clone phone"?

Indeed, what you say is very odd.

It wont be locked because the chinese sellers wont know what network your on. Maybe something in your settings? SIM lock activated?

A clone phone is a chinese copy of a branded phone..He wanted to "keep up" with his mates and brought it to be "in" couldnt afford the real deal so purchased this one.

    >> The word pedants’ top 10

A copy of what? How is it called?
Orange software means sold by Orange. Orange do sell 'chinese' phones, but they don't sell 'copies'.

To be honest, I would be surprised if it even is locked or just a duff. As the majority of cloned items are made to simply LOOK the part.

A phone locked to EE networks must have been supplied by them. It is hard to believe that they market a Chinese knock-off Samsung complete with fake branding, there must be another explanation...
