While it may not get you your money back, reporting him to the HMRC/tax benefit fraud etc and if you have any other informaiton regarding his 'illegitimate activity' - then there is absolutely no harm and no cost in reporting him.
At least for the sake you get to see him squirm while they investigate every detail of his life.0
