I much prefer a proper plate showing the registration year so that when I get a new one I can look down on the peasants for 6 months until I become one myself :)

My wife has a personal plate with her name followed by 4 numbers, a NI plate. However, she has just bought a new car and is doing what you suggest, showing off a 15 plate. As soon as the 65 plates start, her plate is going on the car.

Friend lived in Weymouth and had a Ford Anglia with COM 1C on it, he sold the car with it and it was later bought for loads of money by Jimmy Tarbuck. He was so pi**ed off!

One of the staff at the Hospital in my home town used to have an MG with MAG1C.

Kept getting offers from Paul Daniels and wouldn't budge from what he wanted.

He moved to Glasgow I believe still with the plate and it now belongs to Paul Daniels so I assume they met in the middle.

He bought the car with the plate on it and paid nothinf extra for it.

He should probably enter the lottery.

You're going back a bit there because I'm sure Paul Daniels had that plate in the 80s.
  • Saw a plate at York train station today on a range rover - B19 FAN. Not sure who they are a big fan of but it made me think of this thread :)

Having worked in IT, I really liked a vehicle (Land Rover?) I saw in Alderburgh some years ago, which had the registration TCP1P. (It was parked next to TCP2P, or I might have enquired whether it was for sale).
