I also expect YS to be half price or better. 3 packs of half price teacakes in Waitr@se today but only pence off other items so they stayed on the shelf.0

One thing I've found in my local Mr S is that the butcher counter often has meat reduced to cheaper than on the shelves. The guy working explained that although the meat is still good for a couple of days or freezing, they're only allowed to have them out on the counter for a certain amount of hours as they're not packaged. I've got some good bargains from there - more so than the YS section of chilled!
I've also noticed recently, maybe the weather is a factor, that after work on a Monday Mr S has whole chickens reduced to £1.40! I presume from not enough people buying them for a roast at the weekend but bought one a couple of weeks back and it lasted forever with me on my own. Great find!0 -
I'm yet to find a single decent reduction in either local Waitrose (near work or near home), despite trying before work, at lunch, after work and late night. It's the same story in Lidl (bar pork pies again!) I'm not sure I've ever found a single YS in the nearest Sainsbury's and I've stopped going there now. The Tesco petrol station shop often has a few YSs around, but usually it'd still be cheaper to buy elsewhere. Best reductions seem to be around 8pm there. The Sainsbury's Local has reductions at about 7:30pm but everyone knows about it and waits beside the shelf. Morrisons seems to be my best bet, especially for bakery items, but I think I've only once ever managed to pick up anything for under 20p!
Can only dream of the bargains other people seem to find!Saving for deposit: Finished! :j

I rarely buy yello stickered stuff as either not out and about at the right time of day/evening, or the price reductions are miniscule. I always ask myself if I would buy it at full price, because ocassionally I have bought something 'just because' it was reduced in price, then got home and not had anything suitable to go with it or whatever.:staradmin: June NSD's 2/19:staradmin: Sealed Pot #460 :staradmin: £/day £185 saved :staradmin: W.S.C 2015 #45 :staradmin: F.P. 2/24 months :staradmin:0

I was just going to say, that today I did manage to get a couple of bargain loaves of bread but just checked my receipt and discovered they went through at flaming full price.:staradmin: June NSD's 2/19:staradmin: Sealed Pot #460 :staradmin: £/day £185 saved :staradmin: W.S.C 2015 #45 :staradmin: F.P. 2/24 months :staradmin:0

I live on my own and have a tiny freezer compartment in a tiny fridge so I dont look for YS stuff now. Better value for me is to buy someting with a long sell by date which I'll definitely eat.Magnolia Stellata0

Hi All,
Found all the info on here very interesting as never thought about them having set times! I picked up mince for £2.22 instead of £3 last night not the greatest bargin but noticed at 5:30pm they had just started discounting fruit and veg, bakery hadn't been done yet and meat had but only to a small discount, I will try going in later rather than straight after work in future!!Comp Wins on Twitter to Date: 20 Prizes!

I shop for yellow sticker items every week and have had some fantastic bargains. I never shop at a fixed time but I always manage to find some and I've never had to push my way through a crowd to get them. Maybe I've just been lucky?
My best buys last weekend were packs of ham reduced down to 29p and large packs of salmon steaks (4 steaks per pack) reduced from £6 to £2.05.
Since the beginning of March I've saved over £200 and we've had nothing which we have finished up throwing away.
I am recording my savings on a separate thread with the aim of seeing how much I can save over a year. I love hearing about the bargains that others find£1000 Emergency Fund Challenge #92 £302.55/£1000 (30.2%)0 -

i work in ASDA ( not for them ) and work will 8pm most evenings , at around 7pm the bread trolley appears about 6ft from where i work so i pop out and get the good stuff usually everything is reduced to 10p or 20p sometimes i have grabbed a big birthday cake for a quid as well
best bargains are usually the freezer pack bread rolls 24s for 10p & packs of pastries and coissants for 10p"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0
