Where do you get your yellow sticker bargains?
Good morning all.
Just a quick question for this lovely sunny day.
Where do you get your yellow sticker bargains from and what sort of time do you go?
I usually shop in Aldi, my local butchers and my local greengrocers, but am thinking of doing an Asda evening shop instead and thinking of seeing what my luck is like

We go to Tesco about 6.30,they start reducing everything to 10p.They have 3 areas for reductions.I head for the chill cabinet to look for bargains and my hubby heads for fruit and veg. Then we go the bakery section,we can easily have a weeks worth of food for less than a fiver.Luckily we live in a town where a lot of people don't bother buying reduced food.0

Early evening seems to be good for bakery everywhere, otherwise it varies store to store I think. My local Tesco reduces by barely anything, but my local co-op tends to reduce first thing in the morning. Sometimes you can get loads in garage forecourt shops and small town centre supermarkets over the weekend, I think because most of their customers have gone for the bigger stores. best to check different times of day / week to see what best where you are.0

Hi all,
hhmmm, any time i go tesco only reduces by 10 or 20p and it's usually random stuff that we don't eat or wouldn't buy.
I am always really envious of everyone on here who get great bargains.

My local Asda is the same, just knocks 20p or so off, may as well buy longer life stuff
I find Waitrose on Sundays is often good, limited trading hours, either sell it or bin it option for them
The Lidl red stickers are genuine 30% reductions, had many a nice steak or fish fillet from there, and sometimes strike lucky in the Co -opEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
My Mr t keeps changing the times, and the bakery bread/cakes happens a lot later than the veg. Veg is now 7ish, bread is after 9 Meat, I haven't worked out yet. So the only way to do a full yellow sticker shop would be to spend the evening there and I'm not that desperate for a bargain. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Its just about knowing your local stores times they are all different. I know my local Tesco at 7pm give or take half an hour reduced by 75% - 90%. So I try and time my shops for then. I went a 1pm however and everything was only 50p off which isn't even worth a look. Taken a lot of perseverance to figure out the times but I've got a freezer full of bargains over the past couple of months so I'm happy0

I will be found in M&S every lunch time - I could go in after, but it's in the opposite direction of my car, and I'm already loaded down with whatever I've bought that lunchtime
I digress... I can usually pick up packs of noodles for 20/30p, veg for not much more and the meat is usually reduced - although, unless it's VERY reduced, I tend to skip on this as it's never reduced to my 'stock up' price at that time.
I got enough chopped butternut squash and red pepper in there recently to give me lunch for a week - for under a £1.0 -
Happened to be in Waitr@se just after they opened at 8 this morning, came out with loads of YS fruit and veg for soups etc, plus lovely potatoes which will keep us in jacket pots for a while. Often find YS milk there early afternoon on way home for work plus fish etc for the non veggie members.of the family. Add in the free newspaper and coffee = result. Must be a good time to go on a Saturday as I noticed a few shoppers heading straight for fruit & veg to stock up on YS.0

As others gave said it can be a bit hit and miss. The big Tesco near us does the really good reductions around 8. Unfortunately because they seem to be the only one in our area who does have a fairly predictable time, it has a lot of people with very sharp elbows and zero manners who grab everything in sight, throw it into their trolley then escape to pick through to see what they fancy. It's honestly so bad that I can't go if my little one is with me. It is scary and nasty. I ended up sitting in the salad one week after a particularly nasty shove.
The other shops vary too wildly in their times. I can go to Asda at 6 and there is nothing left, go back next day at 9 and find that they still have only done the morning reductions. Unless it is on the doorstep it can be a wasted journey many times.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

My Sains will be discountng stuff at 7pm and then there will be some more at 8 pm. Depending on what is offered and how many are looking, you can have a very productive swoop or come up empty-handed, there's no rhyme nor reason to it a lot of the time.
On Sundays the little Mr T which closes at 5pm starts discounting baked goods and some others at 3.50. Used to be 4.30 and has been every time in between.
Basically, if I'm passing and not in a tearing hurry, I'll nip in and have a quick look. You can't count on getting anything on YS, it's very much potluck.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
