Good morning everybody, I hope you are well and have fabulous Monday.

Happy shopping. If this is your first school run again after the holidays, I hope it goes well.
Mortgage debt 45,000. Thank you all for your help so far in helping me save to buy the house. I could not have done this without all your help.

I lost apgs as they subbed my shopping with unsuitable subs which I refused, I paid mostly with apg & they did not put the apg vouchers back onto my account, so if I ever get subs again I won't refuse them I did try fir a refund but gave up after 6 weeks hth

That's appalling  I should count myself lucky I don't have these kind of problems with my store. Refunds are always processed within a couple of days and even trouting is a fairly rare occurrence for me in my store. If I didn't get a refund that was due to me it would never give up, would pester them every day until they gave it just to get rid of me :D I guess it's a bit different if you never paid cash in the first place. Did they know this when you spoke to them? Was this their excuse for not giving you a refund?

[1] Don't worry - I was struggling getting between any screens at all with my new laptop, so completely missed it and by the time I finally managed to deal with the cumbersome ways of this website sometimes, I found dm had already opened his 100th thread in a row:rotfl::T.

As regards the rest, especially [2], I know (sadly from personal experience:() about depression and how hard it can be. Do try to relax more though, and I'd glad you are at the moment. I can't believe that, with your MSE skills (far beyond mine), you'd have trouble finding money for bills:(. There are many people who don't shop as we do and therefore must struggle to an even greater extent. I think you tend to over-think things (like I do:() and again put pressure on yourself to be the absolute best and budget in every way to perfection. Sometimes, life isn't like that and we have to accept things that are just alright. So don't be too upset about the coffee - surely something will come back around again or, at worst, you can end up with 10% off straight 'good' offer price but, making more much savings elsewhere, like you do, will be alright. If you adopt the same money-saving approach to your bills - switching suppliers etc. to find cheapest deals - you should be fine. Some things can be too obsessive and that shows in your concern over coffee and Udis, although, then again, it's also a benefit to us as we save more money and, despite the 'obsessive' nature to it all, in a way I'm suggesting more obsession e.g. dealing with the bills in a money-saving way. (So, maybe, an obsession, to a certain point, can be a good thing.)

You're probably a bit like me though. I often never buy anything at all as thinking everything is way too expensive but then I'm not doing something that would perhaps benefit my life. For instance, there's a load of gardening equipment out, that maybe I should be buying and making the garden really nice and then enjoying it, especially if we have good weather this spring and summer, but I never spend much. I am also a procrastinator on that - perhaps I have a caution over buying anything that might be paying too much, and then that caution is way too excessive, maybe I should be like 'most people' and just splash the cash every now and then* and just nip the whole thing in the bud and have done with it (via a good garden). Or maybe I'd just be falling a bit for the equipment that has been well-placed by the stores in the right place for them to sell to us much more:rotfl:.

*I haven't got time to investigate the price of every item, including all non-grocery ones, in every possible outlet before I buy it, otherwise I could just spend my entire life doing that and that would be no good. You can only take economic theory's assumption of "perfect information" so far (therefore, at some point, have to be satisfied with less than perfection). I've bought stuff before (including in A) and then discovered I'd paid over the odds as Aldi, unbeknown to me at the time, was much cheaper:(, so I did not have perfect information at the time of my transactional decision - but then I nearly always do not have perfect information however much attempts are made to try to achieve it!

Thanks Savvy. I do budget hard but the problem is our circumstances changed in 2013 and we can no longer afford this house we're living in as OHs wages do not cover the bills before we even think about grocery shopping. Me being the way I am I couldn't bear to leave this house, don't like change and this house is where I feel safe. Inlaws have helped out a lot with bills and have agreed to do so again, for which I'm grateful as we wouldn't still be in this house without them. I will have to find another job though, I can't see any other way but after 13 weeks of being on ESP they give you help to get you back into work so I'm looking forward to that if I don't find anything else in the meantime.

I did manage to get some coffee in my free shop yesterday :D

May i ask what the surround is as i am looking doe something to put in front of my french doors to keep my dog away as whenever a bird is in the garden she goes crazy scratching to get out and i want to protect them. I don't want an extended stair gate though and what you have looks interesting. Thanks in advance.
