If it is any help with calculations, Muller discount appears as follows on the receipt when I buy 10:
Muller Offer 001L -£2.37
Muller Offer 539L -£0.43
Probably wasting far too much time on this!

Anon
But we wanted you to buy 9.
I've always assumed the first was the 6 for... mbuy and then there was the second deduction for the 10 for... However, it clearly doesn't work like that as the deduction for a straight 6 purchase would be £1.08 (off 68p x 6), not £2.37. If you buy 9, you're looking for £3.75 are you? Making the next one (the tenth) 25p - would the £1.08 increase for each additional Muller and then the 43p finally gets engaged on the tenth one, or do both the £2.37 and 43p get engaged only on the tenth one? Seems strange to me - why split it like that? - why would they have two offers at 10 and not just a straight £2.80 deduction? (With 9 at what should be £5.04, you'd expect the tenth one to deduct £1.04 - or to add its individual price of 68p and then deduct £1.72.) Is there a different Muller mbuy code at 6 or does that 001L code somehow increase the deduction with each additional one, right up to ten where it does a further deduction in order to make it £4? (People would obviously spot if they didn't get £4 at 10, but no-one would complain if they were getting a deduction, beyond the 6 for £4, at 9, 8 or 7 - I doubt anyone would really notice what they'd paid then to be honest, unless they are looking for it like we would be doing.)
I suspect that the system probably does it right though - it seems to be able to cope with a lot of mix and match offers with different individual prices and yet deduct the right amount. Doesn't the same code offer not necessarily have a fixed deduction? In other words, I'm sure I've seen same code mbuy give a different deduction amount on different shops (e.g. on deodorants) depending on the individual prices of what was actually bought. Feel free to look into it/alternatively waste more time though as you might be onto something...0 -

:(I've noticed the SP UHT Milk has gone back down to 49p. Frowning as no use on wombles as now deducts 16p for each one bought (up to the maximum of ten of the same version), compared to what it might have given before assuming it was comparable on the 'winning' comp. I'm so cynical:rotfl:.
So they are back to 49p again. What it has meant is that people have paid them 16p more on each purchase as they've continued to buy them when the price went up - a tiny minority of which are ever checked on the APG so that's usually 16p per carton more taken, an increase that was almost a third more again. They seem to me to do a similar thing on the SP Grated Cheddar at regular intervals:(.
Meanwhile, on a womble I have some £11 Surf. Seemed quite a high price, although it turns out to be 90 washes, so, sadly it's not £5 elsewhere, but instead it looks like it's £9 against T. That should add a good £2.90 - or even £2.91 if it rounds up on the exact divisible by ten - now, how much of that do you reckon they will lose for me on the shop?:(0 -

From what I recall, the first 6 Mullers scan on SS to total £3. After this Muller 7 brings the total up by 25p to £3.25 (although surely it should be by 68p as that is what one Muller costs?), Muller 8 by 25p to £3.50, Muller 9 by 25p to £3.75 and finally Muller 10 by 25p to £4. Surely the till should increase the balance by 68p each time until the 10 for £4 offer is met, not just by 25p each time?
I believe your point is that if you buy 9, the screen will show £3.75, exactly what happens when you press the FINISH button? Will you be charged the £3.75 showing on the screen or will it be 6 for £3 + 3 @ 68p = £5.04?
Also, how will the apg see the comparison?
I think there are too many geeks on this thread Anon, people like you and I (and Munqui and Evangeline and aau1 and loads of others) who analyse things to a crazy level..:rotfl:
I'm not a ....no, wait, you're probably right
I know exactly what Anon meant too but i don't buy Muller so couldn't commentApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
