Discrimination because of pregnancy and maternity
4.34
The Act protects women from discrimination because of their pregnancy
and maternity in the provision of services, exercise of public functions and
associations.

4.35
It is discrimination to treat a woman unfavourably because:
•
she is, or has been, pregnant;
•
she has given birth, and the unfavourable treatment occurs within a period
of 26 weeks beginning with the day on which she gave birth; or
•
she is breastfeeding, and the unfavourable treatment occurs within the
period of 26 weeks beginning with the day on which she gave birth'CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

The gov.uk document states:
"A business cannot discriminate against mothers who
are breastfeeding a child of any age. "
So is this not correct? Our children (though not the one in question) were breastfed to 2.5 years of age & I thought you were protected at whatever age they were still breastfed at.

Two distinct issues and two different courts.
Even if a business fails to adhere to EA legislation, that does not affect the PPC's ability to pursue you for an outstanding parking charge.
Equally, you can take the landowner/PPC to court under EA legislation but the two are not heard at the same court and time.
By quoting EA responsibilities to the PPC and landowner, you are exerting pressure on them to cancel the charge but, if it got to court, then saying that the landowner/PPC was failing under EA would not directly affect the judgement of the actual parking "offence" and POPLA have a poor record of taking EA into their assessments and, to conclude, their chief adjudicator on the POPLA web site in his 2nd annual report says as much as well.0 -
Wahoooo!! The Parking Eye appeal is won! :T
We sent a lengthy complaint to Savills who agreed to have the PCN cancelled but by the time they spoke to Parking Eye apparently they had already decided to uphold our appeal anyway! Parking Eye never acknowledged our appeal within the 14 day period so we were just about to ask how we would proceed from there. A huge thank you to everyone who helped!
Now, we have another one to try & fight, which might be harder or even a lost cause (we really don't normally make a habit of getting PCNs from PPC, honest!). Should I start a new thread?
Thank you again to everyone for all the support it really gave me the push I needed not to roll over to them!
