DO NOT BOTHER WITH OPTION 1
PRESS 2 and you will be connected to somebody in seconds who will take a minimal amount of details.
I was offered an 8 quid policy when i said i was on NHS dental care (which i'm not but had to think fast to minimise the waffle i'd have to listen to).
I was assured my details will be used for nothing other than sending me the policy details. You're covered from the time you call.
Hope that helps anyone who's uneasy about Tesco (which i was but wanted an adrenaline fix - living on the edge dealing with the big T...)0 -
Excellent covered in 2 Mins!! :j
When you call the 0800 number choose option 2 you will get straight through!!
I wasn't asked for any payment details either and was assured my details were only so they could send the policy docs.0 -
I think one of the ways in which AXA make money out of these schemes (both dental and physio) is that many claims will be for treatment for an injury that is the result of an accident where the policyholder isn't at fault (or only partially at fault).
In such cases AXA will be able to recover their outlays from the party who was responsible for the accident (or their insurers). If they use their own providers they may well get a "rebate" so may recover more than the treatment ultimately costs them.
You may notice that the injuries that both the physio and dental policies are aimed at are those resulting from accidents (i.e. RTAs, slips, falls, etc).
Just thought people would like to know. As Martin would say it is always good to know how company's are making their money.0 -
Thanks for the info on pressing option 2 i was put through straight away and done in under 3 mins,

Great tip...
...but, remember, you are entitled to dental treatment for emergencies (how they define emergencies is vague, but I called with excruciating toothache and they took that) through the NHS, even if you aren't on an NHS dentist's list. Call NHS 24 (0845 46 47 in England/Wales and 0845 24 24 24 in Scotland) and they'll put you through to the local dental emergencies line where they'll fit you into a dentist's emergency appointments slot in the area that day or the next day. The usual rules apply to paying, if you're on benefits, etc., it's free.
This covers you for more than the Tesco policy does, considering you don't even need to have fallen over to get it!
HTH,
MikeMSE: It's grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat! :beer:0 -
Wow, thank's for the quidco tip! Just signed up online and will hopefully get paid a pound for doing it. They have £1 cashback for free physio cover too!
Can't see this. Any chance of a Quidco link for this? One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.0 -
Thank you, just used this link for me and the wife.
