Just posted last few eb@y packages and paid £20.96 to CC1 :j
Still a bit left in paypal but I'm not withdrawing it yet as buyer is a possible refund for not reading the item description properly
Still got lots left to sell :)
Did a quick check on my car insurance which is up for renewal next week and have found it approx £100 cheaper :T going to have a good look with dh tomorrow
Am not far off earning my first £5 on SB :)
Ds1 has gone on a trip with his sports team today, the little blighter had his own spending money given by grandparents but he wanted to put that in his savings tin and have money from me instead ! - he's been saving for the last year and half, at the last count (new year) he had over £400 !
He's saving for his first car :) He puts me to shame
Yesterday's full cupboards after my aldi1 and l1dl shop went down well, the children thought it was Xmas :D

    Today I have to :
Make sure dd and ds2 don't burn down the kitchen while baking
Sort and file every last bit of paperwork on my desk
Read through my course chapter and file notes
Put my pics on fb page
    Email possible work projects
Get up to the garage and sort bits to ebay/boot sale/pack to move/bin
Bubble wrap a box of framed pics etc (I still have lots of our stuff packed ready for moving next year, nothing like being well prepared :)

    I'm happy because :
    It's the weekend :j
My debt total is coming down and I still have more £s from some work I've done coming in next week to put towards it :)
I'm at home all weekend, we don't have to go anywhere or spend any money, hoooooooray :j

Yesterday I spent a lot of time thinking, about our money situation and other things we have going on. My grandad came to this country after the 2nd world war, he has always said "I live like a King" to many people this may seem strange, he doesn't have a lot, his house isn't kitted out with fancy fittings and furnishings, he doesn't eat at fancy restaurants but if he wants to eat out he goes to a local cafe that has home cooked meals or goes for a pint at the local pub, his TV and Hoover are over 20 years old and still work fine, he has a roof over his head and everything he needs and this is enough to make him feel like a King. Over the last couple of years I've finally started to understand what he means, it's not about having the latest gadgets, fancy holidays, fancy home and flashy cars, (not that all that has ever really appealed to me, I don't really understand the keeping up with the jones' mentality) but it's about being happy with what you've got and remembering the important things in life are a happy and healthy family, I'm very grateful that even though we have to watch the pennies to save the pounds we are a very happy family and I can now say I live like a Queen :)

    Ploughing ahead there, well done.

I remember when I had my Ald1 realisation - it's fab isn't it? I've always said I will continue to shop there even when I am DF!
I love what you wrote about your Grandad and it resonates with me too :)

    Thanks DebtFree2012 :)
There should be a thread for everyone's Ald1 LBM :D
I quite like it in there now it reminds me of the supermarkets we use when we go abroad, I don't know why I never started shopping there sooner ! I've set myself a little challenge to spend as little as possible of my shopping budget this month so that I can put any spare towards my debt payments, I'm quite excited to see if I'll manage it :D

Well I've had a lovely weekend, saw some family and generally did not very much :D Just earned my first £5 on SB and saved £145 on my car insurance :T

Payday today so lots of black book scribblings going on :D
    CC1 is now paid in full :j :T :j
Next to get rid of are CC2 and Catalogue1
will be making more payments towards these and everything else this week and next, my total is coming down and my DFD is getting closer :D

    LOADS to do today :(
Need to paint all of the little marks that the children have made on the walls with their grubby hands and by banging things against them  so that's the hall, kitchen, dining room and bedrooms, luckily everything is magnolia here and the landlord left a big tub of paint in the garage :) we decided not to do anything to this house as it's not ours and it would be just a waste of money, I also took that thought to the unpacking when we moved in and have only unpacked the essentials and the children's things so they feel homely, only got to pack it all up again next year
I've also got to pop to the post office
    Print off some paperwork
    Finish a painting
    Pop into the library
and make a start on the ironing mountain

    And I'm happy because :

My total is coming down :j
I figured out the SB payment, just hope that I've got the p@ypal thing right so that I actually get the money
Only 4 more days until I can list some more from the eb@y mountain :T

I seem to have a lot of mountains ! ironing, eb@y, debt !
I will climb them all :D

We have a sausage casserole that I make, probably similar, which we love. You can't beat cheap and filling mmmm! In fact I am going to add it to the plan now as we've not had it for a while :)

Re my job, I'm just sitting tight for now and keeping my eyes and ears open internally. I am being told slightly conflicting info, no shock there, so I'll wait until it actually happens. I would be stupid to leave unless it was amazingly worth it as I have pension, good wage, sick days and all the rest of it here. However in the mean time I'm dreaming about being DF and not being tied to a higher paid job just to fund my debt payments. Although if we get the place we want, then we will have a huge mortgage so I'll be tied to it for that! But I'm good about that!

  • Yes I call it sausage casserole sometimes too I think they're pretty much the same :)
Very sensible re your job, it's good to sit tight and wait sometimes.

Sad day for me today, I collected my beloved cats ashes this morning, lots of tears :( she's now in her favourite spot on the window sill and I feel better now she's back home with me.

Got on with my huge to do list otherwise I would have sat and cried the day away :(
Only got a couple of things left to do :)
    LOTS of coursework reading
    Finish a painting tonight
    Finish the ironing :(

Had a look at my debt planner and because I've made a few small overpayments I'm now set to pay everything off a month earlier !! I'm sticking with the original plan for now though just incase of any unforseens which are bound to pop up, but if I can keep up with the overpayments when I can I should definitely pay it all off a little earlier, that would be great :D I already know I have a few overpayments coming in later this month so fingers crossed everything will work out and my DFD will be even closer :)
