No, personally I haven't. I always put it into my purse or zipped compartment and fasten my bag up.
Sorry you lost some money, hope it wasn't a lot.0 -

i found 50p early on Sunday morning. Put it in my pocket and continued with my Voluntary work. Got home and later in the evening went through my pockets to find it and it wasn't there! I still feel cut up about it - if that is any help

I found a £20 note in a puddle a couple of weeks ago in a town centre. Well happy.0

I found over £800 once. It had fallen out of the guy's back pocket. He was VERY happy when he phoned the police to be told I'd handed it in as he said his wife was ready to string him up

Sorry to hear you lost money, it's really horrible!
I lost half a month's rent in my purse once. I'd just taken it from the cash machine that day, and the purse disappeared, I must have dropped it in town or somewhere
I did check with all the shops and the police station, but I don't think it was handed in. My MIL was wonderfully kind and paid that part of the rent that month, (she wouldn't accept my refusal, bless her!)
The best you can hope for is that whoever found it, needed it.

I found cash left in a cash machine in Brighton once, it was a Saturday so we couldn't take it into the branch. Handed it in at my own branch on the Monday with the slip that was also hanging out of the machine. Hope it found its way back to its owner.
Also found £30 in the street, handed that into the police. It was claimed, otherwise if I'd been able to claim it after 30 days, I was going to give it to somebody I know who had her handbag dipped on her way into the post office, somebody distracted her at the door by dropping something, she lost £80 she could ill-afford to lose.
