The Americas were in such a position at the end of WW2.
They didn't wipe japan off the face if the world
I don;t believe they were.
I believe they called Japan's bluff on how many Nukes they had.
In any case, we have moved on from those times and since 1970, should be working toward total disarmament of nuclear weapons:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.

If the latest STV poll is true then it wipes out all LDs as well. By allowing Cameron to play with indyref Clegg has LD blood on his hands.0

To be honest, I am sceptical of the polling and can't believe the SNP will gain so much seats.
It would be good to have a unified, independent voice in Westminster rather than an offset branch of Labour / Lib Dems:wall:

I'm not a banker any more and I'm not subject to UK tax laws so it seems unlikely.
I hate the SNP as I hate Nationalists. It's the same reason UKIP and the BNP disgust me. They're all different shades of the same thing.0 -
I openly admit that I have a problem with having a party's economic policy foisted upon me that I have no way of voting for.
So Nicola Sturgeon/SNP and their at best 5% of UK voterbase believe that because of their strong regional support, they are best placed to force something like the 0.5% additional GDP borrowing on all of us.
It's nuts frankly.
I wouldn't want it from a Scottish regional party; a Welsh one; or a party representing Bedfordshire!0 -

I'm surprised you don't hate the conservatives as well as they are moving more towards being an "English" Party in all but name.
The discussion of "English Votes for English Laws (EVEL)" is not considering the Welsh or Ni'ish MP's and is in fact uniting Labour, Lib Dems, SNP, Plaid Cymru all against the policy as the Cons attempt to win back votes from UKIP:wall:

The Tories were pretty keen on keeping the Union during the referendum.
This isn't the way an English party behaves to achieve it's aim.0 -

They were pretty vocal about being better together before the Referendum.
The actions since is not following up on the "better together" stance.
Their coalition partners even state thatNick Clegg rules out "English votes for English laws"
Willie Rennie accuses Conservatives of trying to pull the UK apart
Meanwhile the SNP confirmed thatSNP MPs in Westminster would now vote on budgetary changes nominally focused on England if they felt there would be an impact in Scotland.
They would not vote on matters in England which has no impact on Scotland:wall:

The Tories are left trying to cover the ridiculous situation caused by Labour setting up completely unnecessary and very expensive 'parliaments' in Scotland and Wales.
There is a nasty Nationalist element to the Tories which I don't like but they are very much on the fringe and have largely abandoned ship for UKIP. Good riddance frankly.0
