Manifest Stupidity IV: The SNP Launch A Thousand Manfesti

For some reason, the SNP seem to be launching several manifestos/manifesti. I have no idea why this is a good reason but then I have no idea why the SNP are a good idea.

I will try to collate them and post them here. Any help with links would be greatly appreciated.

I have the families manifesto:

And the business one:

Google seems to suggest that this is the SNP's schtick. It seems like a great way to avoid proper scrutiny of your policies: spread them around the place a bit so it's harder to go to a place to see what last year's policies were.

I can type, 'Green Manifesto 2014' or 'Tory Manifesto 2014' into Google and see what the manifesto was for the last election. No way to do that for the SNP and that's how they like it I think. Oh well, I'll track them down.

So far we have a minimum wage of £8.50. More than Lab/Cons but less than the Greens. Oh and slightly bizarrely, getting rid of Trident gets a mention with families.

....as in the number of hard working families that will be claiming the dole once Faslane is closed.

Well the one thing that we can be certain of is that the SNP won't be in a position to close anything after the election as they're not fighting in enough seats to form a Government!

Yes, probably a waste of time reading them.

A small single issue fringe party only standing in a tiny number of seats.

They could be the king makers

As for the nuclear subs at what is it £30B? it really is a stupid idea.
The UK can keep nukes but not have nuke subs

ICBMs or Bombers or put them on surface ships

but overall can anyone really think of a case when it would make sense to use them?

Even if russia nuked the whole of the UK if I were the commander on a trident sub I would not nuke russia in retaliation how would killing a hundred million Russians help make the situation better?

as for the argument of deterance, deterance already exists in the form of a globalised world.

We only ever have one Sub on patrol with 16 missiles.

I'm sure 16 Trident missiles can do a huge amount of damage, but compared to what the US have available at any one time (their subs can fire 20+) plus all their landbased and other missiles, and what the Russians and Chinese could fire you have to wonder how much of a deterrant on it's own our Nucleur capability is.

    £100bn lifetime cost I believe.

I don't think as a captain you get a choice. You sail around the ocean and then the pollies deploy your nukes for you having asked the Americans very nicely first.

Bombers can be shot down and ICBMs destroyed on the ground. Subs are great because they can be anywhere and deployed even after the mother country is destroyed.

    whatever does that mean?

deterrence is based on the theory that you will not do something to me if the pain you will feel from me is not worth it:

if the Ukraine had a large and effective army, russia wouldn't have invaded

globalisation has nothing to do with it

If I were the captain of the nuclear sub I would certainly push the button :

I think there's discrimination going on.

Hard robbing families and hard bullying families rarely get a look in. But who else is going to provide 80% of Channel 5 telly?
