Are you keeping all text messages where she acknowledges the debt as a loan to be repaid? Just in case she tries if it did go to court to play the "gift not a loan" card.

I'm pretty sure you will need your colleague's address to do a money online claim. You might have to follow her home if there's no chance of getting it any other way.

Yes I am and I also have messages via social network sites where she apologises for (insert word) ups! Plus I have spoken to the 3 of the 4 others she has had money off, all of whom had bother getting it back. Unfortunately, I suspect mine mainly paid off their loans.

I am planning to make a formal grievance via Human Resources this week and hopefully will get her address that way otherwise she'll be getting court papers at work in front of everyone. Human Resources won't like that. Neither will she for that matter - or have I gone a bit "Dallas" in my dramatics??

I really hope you get your money back and she realises what a horrible person she has been. Many people get into financial difficulty (holds up hand...:)) but lying and exploiting the goodwill of others is despicable.

Yes you're going a bit Dallas.

Is this the sort of thing HR are going to be interested in? Other than the fact you are colleagues, you lending her money has SFA to do with work.

What do you imagine happens when people receive notice that a Money Claim had been raised against them? It's not nearly as exciting as you think it will be. :)

You don't need to follow her home like a creepy stalker and I very much doubt HR will give you her address. If you roughly know where she lives then you could try using a service like 192.com online to get her address or you could try a service like Monkey Finder. Yes you'll need to pay for these services but it's better than donning an Inspecter Cluseau disguise and trying to follow her home.

Actually I think they would be very interested in the fact that she is using the workplace to illicit loans from her work colleagues and has had loans off at least 4 other people and approached several more. I also think the fact that I am raising a legal action against a work colleague would be something they would wish to know.

Sadly I was told that only getting REALLY horrible with her gets anywhere which isn't really in my nature.

You've been waiting [?] over 6 months now and you've been given advice several times and have failed to follow it. I'm beginning to wonder if you are enjoying the drama more than a resolution.
