 Seems like you've skipped step 1 and gone straight to step 2.
 I'm not surprised the bank don't know what you're talking about, as you can't just start collecting direct debits as an individual without any special authority on your account.
 Without being a DD originator, the bank won't accept your upload files.0

            You haven't got a hope in hell of requesting Direct Debits from other peoples' accounts with only a personal account, let alone without the accreditation and bank sponsorship to be a Direct Debit originator. The Direct Debiting scheme requires you to be sponsored by your business bankers to set up Direct Debits. You cannot just upload a file into an Internet banking service and then take other peoples' money from their accounts.urs sinserly,
