Would you fill in this pond?

Your garden looks great now!0

I'm another water feature fan - have an original 1920s raised pond at our new house (and a stream at the last one
) although the PO had surrounded the pond with a picket fence and bolted gates at both ends - and it certainly wouldn't deter us from viewing, but then we have no young kids to consider.
That said, you've done a grand job and it looks fab - hope your hard work has the desired effect

Thats really lovely, will make a huge difference!
Is it up on sale yet or are you just getting ready?
Good luck! x0 -
Thanks chaps.

The paint was picked up by the other half when she saw it on clearance. I believe it was "Colours" outdoor paint, with the colour "Fir". I still have the empty tin at home, so I'll check when home.
The house isn't on sale yet, as I need to finish the flooring in the kitchen, and wait the hall/landing before the carpet goes down. I have a week off coming up, so I hope to have it all finished in that period.

What you've done with the garden is a huge improvement.
Sounds like you are spending quite a bit of time and money on various things before you market your house!
I just hope they prove cost effective!0 -
Heroic work, sir & I salute Herself's taste in paintwork.
May you finish the flooring, be besieged with buyers in short order & enjoy the next pond still more. (Although I think 5' deep is splendid for a swimming pool, it may be a touch OTT for a garden pond?!)0 -

The house needed totally redecorating when I moved in, but the sale has kicked me into gear (divorced and new partner wants to buy a home together). Things have been done quite cheaply as it's all DIY. The garden refurb only cost £120 in total.

It's now a nice neutral garden that should aid the sale.
However, I'd just like to note that I grew up in a house with a garden pond (as did several of my friends in the same street of late 70s new-builds) and think it's a shame if parents now view them as some sort of guaranteed death trap. I loved feeding the fish and looking out for tadpoles, frogs and dragonflies and wondering how pondskaters managed it. My mum can't swim, but brought us up to respect water. They are an EYESORES!!!!0
