I opened a 2 yr FRISA with them 7 April. The account appeared online with zero balance, not long after online application. I am only transferring in, so sent transfer forms with the printed application form. 10 days later I had another email to day the account was activated. Then a few days ago two letters to inform me the transfers had been requested.

Yesterday I was surprised to see my account no longer appears online, though my name, address, etc still do. It seems, on phoning them today, that it will not now show online (which I didn't realise) even after the transfers. Instead I will get a passbook when there is something to show (when at least one of the transfers are through). I had not realised this (about it being passbook based). I was told today, if I needed to make a withdrawal, I could post the passbook, with a covering letter containing my signature, or even email a scan of my withdrawal request letter to them. Odd.

Yes same here, the online Leeds ISA account shows during the early stages of setup and then it disappears, but terms and conditions for the Leeds ISA (issue 65) do say open in branch, via the Internet, or by post and then they say ... the management of the account is via any branch or by post. Hence the online viewing goes and it comes down to their passbook and either going into a branch or communicating with Leeds BS by post or over the phone.

In honesty ... Most people will leave things as they are for two years, so there isn't much of a problem (bear in mind the interest is only applied yearly) so not much to monitor online anyway.

It is a pain not seeing your account online, but the interest rate is a little better than most.

However I also thought they would allow us all to view (if not manage) our accounts online, but I now accept it is a lesson learned and now accept the fact my money has disappeared into 'the further' or black hole for the next two years.

See you all two years from now, on the other side.

.. I was told it was 2 weeks for an appointment.

i'm surprised they are so busy. or, perhaps more likely, inefficient. they ought to be able to see customers for ISA transfers more quickly than that, surely?

i've been a member of Leeds since the late 90s, when it was Leeds & Holbeck.. but i haven't tended to leave much with them as the rates have not been competitive.

:rotfl:Yes indeed! The slightly higher interest rate was the main reason I moved it there, rather than "upgrade" it as Santander call it.
The person I spoke to said online viewing might come in time, but I had the impression there was no urgency in this respect.

Anyone else experiencing no written communication, no answering of phones (at time of writing), and no sign of a transfer of ISAs even being started after the best part of 2 weeks?

Not at all impressed with these jokers.

At present I have had two letters to say they have requested transfers from each of the other two banks. I know one has gone from where it was and the other one is fixed until 1 May. I am told on the phone (long wait) I will get a passbook when one or both transfers are done.

I think there is a problem with the application documents for the Leeds BS 2yr FRISA (issue 65). See this thread:
