Best companies to help claim PPI

Options
I have seen these adverts that keep popping up for PPI claims and even though I have no idea whether I have a claim or not, with all of the store cards, loans and credit cards I have had in the past I thought it was worth looking into.

I have read a few posts about how easy it is to claim yourself, but I just know I don't have time to write the letters, send them off, chase them up, etc, etc. So I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the best company to use (even though I know most of you will say do it yourself)? If I didn't pay someone to look into it then I know I wouldn't look into it at all.

I hope this makes sense to someone and hopefully someone can advise me on the best company to use.

Thanks!

Even if you use a claims co, you need to get all the info for them anyway, so use any claims co you like, they will give the info you give to them to the banks, all this will cost the claims co is a stamp, it will cost you upwards of 20% plus Vat if you win redress.

You will get all the help you need on this site for free.

You have to supply the CMCs the same info you would put on the FOS form. You will be on the phone to them longer than it will take you to fill out the form. Walk to post box a couple of minutes. No chasing up required.

Do it yourself claims companies stick a stamp on an an envolope whilst you do the work, its a great business model. Claims companies are a bigger scandal than the original mis-selling of PPI.

In summary there are no good PPI claims companies.

@Suze264 Which claims company do you work for?

  • Susie. On the assumption you are a genuine poster, and bearing in mind you have already been judged as being from a claims company, this is not the site for you. No one on here will enter any form of dialogue, recommendation or otherwise. No one is allowed to put forward any recommendation anyway as it is against forum rules and statements such as claims companies are a bigger scandal than ppi itself clearly demonstrates a lack of understanding of the number of cases and billions of pounds set aside to redress the mis selling of the financial services industry over many years

    How does that work?

Those billions of pounds as you put it can be claimed easily and straight forwardly yourself. Organsitions like Which and FOS make it clear recommendation one should claim yourself and not use a CMC. Therefore it is not just this site sending that message out.

In my opinion all this site does is give good solid advice and in the case of an upheld claim, you keep what is rightfully yours and not hand over somewhere North of 20% to a CMC.

    Your statement:

A statement from an abitatary CMC I found on the net, spot the difference?

"The four big banks (Lloyds, Barclays, RBS and HSBC) account for over £18.5bn of the total £22bn provision. Until this morning, Barclays' provision was £2.77bn, rising now to £4.1bn. Lloyds Banking Group has provisioned £11bn, RBS £2.2bn and HSBC £1.6bn. Most have increased their provision several times and show no signs of it being the last."

I have previously asked Bob to provide details of a firm that does more than use minimum wage style call centre staff who record your details remotely and then just post off the letter e.g. sending someone to look through your records (suitably qualified and security checked of course), confirm your suitability, actual (valid!) complaint reasons etc and only take a small chunk of the refund (and would also have no problem mentioning up front you can do it yourself for free AND they have no chance of success). I have also pointed out the posts on this forum by people who have named and praised CMCs whose posts have not been deleted proving there is no such bar on the forum.

    Answer came there none.

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

    He won't.

    However, it is simple.

    Fill in this form.

Print 2 copies. Post one to the seller of the policy and keep one for yourself (yours can be a pdf copy).

Get proof of posting (free from the post office) and keep it with your copy.

Give them nine weeks - they have eight weeks to consider the complaint and allow another for correspondence in the post.

If you have not have a satisfactory response by then, go here and complain to FOS.

I do not think Suze264 works for a CMC, though. Could be a stooge for bob but I don't think so.
