I can watch the dhows being loaded and unloaded all day long, their amazing cargo, the smells, the hustle and bustle, and wondering where the dhows are sailing to or just arrived from.
Or the flotilla of small abra endlessly crossing the Creek packed with all manner of people and their carry on goods. A precarious business as the abra don't tie-up alongside, so good balance and steady nerve is a must...

And the small market stalls, the colourful souqs that test all your senses.
Anywhere other than the Creek area of Dubaid and Deira don't do much for me. That's the real Dubai. The shopping malls and the
oversized beach mega-hotels are boring and could be anywhere in the world sort of places.[/
With you all the way on that Pete, I just love the Creek areatravelover0 -

I think I will take a leaf out Pompey's book and do the "old" Dubai in January, Abu Dhabi is certainly on my bucket list.
I need to research hotels, preferably a city centre hotel, I don't want any of those fake beaches, camels etc., but their malls I love!0
