Half way there and a slight change of direction

It's different when you're in it, and no let up - I've had a few weeks on my own in Spain and Italy here and there, and I was perfectly capable of talking to the guy in the train station ticket office, to cancel one ticket and buy another
It is very different indeed. I'm also poor at languages, but with it going every waking hour, it does sink in.
I'd advise to watch kids TV in the language of your choice (home produced - not dubbed). Usually everybody speaks slowly and clearly and uses short words with very little slang.
The funny voices are sometimes a bit of a pain though. And I certainly recall arguing in Italian when the bus conductor who called at my camp site tried to insist on taking me out for the evening
Well that's a new euphemism for me. "Beat over the head and buried in a shallow grave" is now "Argued in Italian..."

I was LouiseJ but needed a new start (long story, not very interesting).
I love Denmark and have worked there on and off for the last 3 years. They are the happiest most chilled out people I have ever met and they really value the work/life balance. I got talking to a barman while I was there and he was from Hull, the lady in the canteen was from Middlesbrough.
Not sure on property prices though. I know that you cannot own a property in Thailand unless you were born there or marry someone from there."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -

There is currently a "something must be done!" crisis about property prices in Copenhagen. Silly money, like London is silly money."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Loving the whole conversation too :j
Be careful with using kids stuff to learn another language - for ages, I was saying "cocotte" for "poulet" - thats equivalent to calling a chicken a "chickabiddy":rotfl:

Something like veo gente muerte or muerta. BTW, Spanish have two verbs for 'to be' - ser and estar. Ser is for permanent conditions, estar for temporary. 'He is dead' uses the temporary - one of the joys of living in a Catholic country (along with the processions of course
).
Sometimes it is temporary...
