Good Morning,

So I have a bad report on my credit rating from Voda phone.

Many years ago I was sent down to PC world to get a 3g data card for my boss with a purchase order.

I ended up giving my own details such as address, name, DOB etc apart from bank details as it would be paid from the company account.

so about 8 years later my credit score dropped to fair and it was because of this contact.

I challenged it through eqifax and Vodaphones response was that as it was taken out in my name they cannot remove it.

The company who I took the contact out for said they will state it was for them.

This has taken my credit report down and my mortgage advisor has said it will make it impossible for me to get a mortgage until it is taken off?

Any advice as to who I can talk to etc

Many Thanks in advance as you can appreciate how frustrating this is for me and my Mrs who have always made sure we have had a good rating for this purpose.

When you say 'bad report' do you mean the Vodafone account has defaulted? If so, what is the date?

    Hi,

    Thank you for the reply.

Yes, default, it was last year, I can get the specific months if required but it was for about 5-6 payments which put my score into 'fair'

Has the account actually been defaulted or do you just have 5-6 late payment markers? There is a huge difference.

If the account has defaulted, it usually shows as a red '8' status or lots of 'DDDDDDDDDDDDDD' on the months.

    Have you tried this:

I have tried to do a screen shot but unsure how to link it to the post but it says:

    D D D D 3 2 1

So the D means default and credit agreement has ended

and the numbers represent how late the payments were in months.

Well first things first, you need to transfer ownership to your employer.

After that, you will probably need to get a written letter from your company specifying that the account was theirs from the start and then write to Vodafone and ask them to remove the adverse data from your files. If they refuse, you will have to get the Ombudsman involved or FCA/FSA, can't remember which one to look into your case.

Thank you very much for your help, its truly appreciated.

The account has now been closed therefore I doubt I will be able to transfer the ownership.

I have contacted the FSA and the guy who I don't think was very interested said I have to contact Ofcom as its Vodaphone ?

I don't believe this information to be correct ? or maybe I am wrong ?

    Thanks again

There is a Vodafone rep that posts here, you may want to edit your title and add FAO: Vodafone rep to it to garner their attention.
