Shah06 I had a similar experience with another site like this  I emailed and tried to ring with no success. However, I then contacted the actual supplier as they should be listed on the voucher or acknowledgement email. They did respond and instructed the discount site to refund me. And amazingly I got a refund,. but this seems to be the only way. By law, Go Groopie should be responsible as the direct source of sale but they disclaim this without the go-ahead from the wholesaler. You just have to hope the supplier is a reasonable company, there are many who are not, but give it a go

After great struggle, I managed to contact the merchant (by email) and found that they have run out of stock and have to wait for another 5 days. I refused to agree for their tactics and demanded for full refund including the delivery charges. I received an email from GoGroopie saying that they have refunded the full amount but American Express says they have not received any. I ask GoGroopie to send me the proof of refund. When received the proof of their internal transactions, to my surprise that they have only initiated amount for the goods not for the delivery charges! I have given them certain time limit to respond positively. If they fail to refund the full amount including the delivery charges then I will take this matter to my solicitor and to small claim court to claim the full amount, compensation (£200.00) for wasting my precious time from 9th March until now and also the court/solicitors charges. Hope they will respond and will refund the full amount without any further delay.

Victor, try to find out from the site who the actual supplier is. Go groopie are intermediaries and won't do anything until they hear from the original source. Certainly report this to all, but the actual supplier is the only way although I think by law, it should be Go Groopie as they are the direct seller. I have been through this myself
  • Thank you very much for replying.
As mentioned above, I did lodge two complaints - with PayPal and my bank.
I heard from both that my complaint against Go Groopie Limited had been upheld.
I received a refund directly from PayPal.
I will not be ordering anything from that firm again.

Very few people would buy from them in the first place if they had done their research before they parted with their hard-earned!

  • I bought an item from GoGroopie, only £16 plus £6 p+p. When it broke - because it was poorly designed - I complained and, after they ignored the first 3 complaints they just evaded my questions and refused to engage constructively with me. I am so cross that I am thinking of taking them to Small Claims Court. My question is, 'Do I have the same consumer rights as if I'd bought the item from a shop, or does the GoGroopie business model, where they sell you a voucher which you have to redeem, limit those rights. In particular, are GoGroopie obligated to provide a refund or replace an item if it is within within 6 months of purchase, or can they claim they are intermediaries so the law doesn't apply to them? They told me that I was not eligible for a refund because thier terms and conditions say you can only get a refund if you return the item within 14 days of receiving it.

Did GoGroopie actually supply the item or did you pay for a voucher from them then redeem that voucher with another retailer?

Sadly that is a postal address only. I wouldbe surprised if they were even using space there for offices.

May you find your sister soon Helli.
