Yes you can check in IF you pay for an allocated seat.

No not for the inbound flight.
I should NOT have been able to check in the inbound flight WITHOUT paying for an allocated seat......
I have been allocated a seat but NOT paid for it.

I just checked in my flight, did not pick seats. 2 seats are automatically allocated to me,. (me and mrs).
No need to pick own seats.

    Have a safe flight. :)

Personally I don't mind paying an extra £10.99/person to make the Ryanair experience a bit more bearable. We flew with them over Easter for a trip to Budapest and Vienna and paid this both ways. It's still Ryanair, but it just makes it a bit more comfortable to be able to sit at the front left with the huge legroom, not find that all the overhead lockers are taken by the time you board, and not having to wait for half the plane to get off when you land.

I used to do the bare-bones, cheapest possible Ryanair thing, but I just don't feel I have the endurance for that any more (even though the boarding scrum is not as bad as it used to be since they started allocating seats). Even with the charges for seat allocation they were still a fair bit cheaper than the next-cheapest airline.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning
