Are they trying to mislead by suggesting they get 18,000 members each week? There also seems to be a shortage of men..

    That's not a bad thing :D

There is no guarantee for the number of compatible matches, the wording offers you a range rather than we "guarantee", this is then subject to a "qualification" where it says "in line with your individual search criteria".
Our smart profiling delivers 3-7 compatible matches a day in line with your individual search criteria and we automatically filter out users that are no longer active so you don’t waste time looking at unsuitable profiles.

The question of whether you'd a contact guarantee which appears unlikely from your OP. The specific term/condition is this one:
EliteSingles cannot guarantee successful communication with other members. EliteSingles is not responsible if, during the contract period, no contact is made. However, this does not apply if, as part of a paid membership, a 'Contact Guarantee' is agreed. If a “Contact Guarantee” is agreed, the following special conditions apply: with a 6 month contract a minimum of 10, and with a 12 month contract a minimum of 20 contacts are guaranteed. A “Contact” is defined as: (i) a self-written message from another member that you receive in response to sending a smile, questions or a message, (ii) any message you write yourself in response to a ‘smile’ or questions or a message from another user. Further prerequisites for a claim under warranty are: that you need to have sent at least 4 self-formulated messages for a six-month membership, and at least 8 for a twelve-month membership; that the “My Profile” and “My Search” sections have been completely filled; that you have set at least one profile picture; that you still have an active paid account; that you have regularly logged on to your account; and that you notify Support@elitesingles.co.uk via email within the standard notice period (at least 7 days prior to the expiry of your account) about the failure to meet the conditions of the agreed “Contact Guarantee”. If a judgment is made in your favour, under warranty you will be entitled to a new subscription of an equal length to your original contract at no additional cost.
  • Yes , Vedrena , quite predictably , an easy come-back , attempting to bamboozle us with legalese .
The fact is : if I took my car into a garage for a full service , could they leave out certain aspects of the service , on the grounds that they didn't have any oil which was compatible with my car or they didn't have any compatible components or whatever and then still demand the full price of the service , defending their bare faced cheek by quibbling about whether the full service was offered or guaranteed ?

Poor show , poor play on words , poor service , poor value !

With respect, you are paying a third party to tell you who you are compatible with and who you should/shouldn't speak to in regards to dating. Doesn't that kinda bother you? Quibbling over the blurb, ESPECIALLY when you consider that it is IMPOSSIBLE to guarantee 3-7 matches per day for the duration of your contract (unless you think that there is an unlimited pool of women in the world who just happen to log onto the site!). The T's and C's make no mention of it, so this is what you should ideally be relying on.

Also, don't trust what the site says. It just wants you to pay some money. If you look at their Alexis ranking it is 'shocking' to see that the VAST MAJORITY of people who visit the website are Men with some education. Strange!

Thats a ridiculous comparison. I wonder if the OP read this before signing up ?

That guarantee would suggest that they have plenty of fake profiles on the site that they can use to send people messages.

I would never pay for a dating website, the free ones are good - i met my husband on one!!
I met Mrs MbW through a paid-for dating website, but it was one of the good ones.

As an aside: My Mrs is Russian and there are a lot of crap paid-for sites out there, the one we met through was bought up by another one of the poorly-regarded ones and merged a few years later...

I think the OP is on about an actual dating website where you meet someone like minded and chat before meeting them with a view to developing a relationship.

I'm not sure 'paid for dating site' could be used to describe a site where you buy a Russian or Far Eastern bride :D

Meer53 seems to misunderstand the nature of my complaint .
I am not asking for a guarantee of successful communication with other members of Elite Singles and I am not holding Elite Singles responsible "if , during the contract period , no contact is made". No one can make members contact me . That would be preposterous .
All I am asking for is simply what I paid for : the minimum number of profiles , as advertised , to be supplied daily , so that I may choose to contact them if I so wish .

Haha but the problem is that there are no terms and conditions relating to this! Also, there is no mention of time frame and so it is you assuming that their blurb relates to the entire duration of the contract! Finally, it is unreasonable to expect yourself to be compatible with 3-7 women DAILY for a long period of time, especially when you consider that their alexis ranking (low confidence) suggests that the majority of users are men.

Above all, I just can't understand why you are paying for this service in the first place and why it bothers you so much! Is it so hard to log on and message a woman you kinda like the look of, instead of waiting for this third party (who ultimately only want your money) to tell you who to message? Nothing against dating sites per se, but just don't understand why your expectations are like this on this occasion! The only criticism I have for elitesingles is that they haven't created a load of fake female profiles which they can send you should they run out of the 3-7/day legit ones, that would keep you lining their pockets :p:
