    That's interesting....

The new ISA pays less interest (of course!) .....

I opened an Issue 1 ISA in late March, but I'm already regretting it - their only contact is via an 0845 number and my account has been locked out twice within a week!!.

I sent a secure message enquiring about transferring in another ISA and checked back to see if I had received a reply. On one check, for no apparent reason, it said my account was locked. So I called the number specified and the account was unlocked - but it cost me over £1. Then two days later the same thing happened. So I emailed the PO helpline, who said they had passed my message to the ISA team. Since then, nothing - and no further email replies either! 6 days and counting.....

Interestingly, they sent a message telling me to log on to my account as there was a secure message there!!!

So I'm seriously considering moving to another company who actually have email contact - because the rate I'd be paying for calls would soon wipe out any gains on the account!

Well I opened an account today and got a message straight back saying they could not verify my bank account (with the Halifax!) and could I send them a certified bank statement. I had to try two PO branches before someone would sign it, and even then it was obvious that they weren't sure what I was on about as they had to ask the manager.

    What a faff.

Now you're all scaring me me...

I opened a PO ISA on 31st March sent with a cheque, which has been cashed and deposited into the ISA and i've received paperwork confirming all's good.

The only option I couldn't see was about anything online, it was all through the 0845 number, which as i've just set it up and am just leaving it for now I wasn't worried about it.

    Should I be?

No, it sounds as if you've been one of the lucky ones!

To be fair I got a text from the Halifax this morning to say the transfer request had been received, so they seem to move things along quickly.

The original reply to my access problem on 1st April from customercare@postoffice.co.uk said "If we can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us again. Please reply via customercare@postoffice.co.uk as a reply sent to any other email address will not receive a response." Well, I'm still waiting and even a reply to customercare telling them that their promised contact had not occurred has gone unanswered. Interesting date........

Unfortunately, I opened and funded my ISA online .... and, so far, I've received no paperwork - so without online access I have no real details at all........

Not all ISAs have a sort code! In my £1 conversation, the PO guy told me that they don't have a sort code - that was because I was thinking of transferring in a Virgin Money ISA ... and they don't have a sort code either!!

He advised me to put the Account Number in the Roll Number box and then no sort code would be required. This may be the same with your new ISA supplier, so it's worth checking.

New ones do, but old Northern Rock now Virgin ones may not, I know there was some issues for me when I was filling out transfer forms with my old Northern Rock ISA.

I was going to open one but decided against it when I got this message twice from them. Has any one seem the West Brom BS
WeBSaveR Limited Access ISA? I'm thinking of transferring in an old ISA but unsure what happens if I see a better offer because they pay interest annually and not daily, as some do.
