All my Bowie music is on vinyl. I'm not sure if that was the plan, it's just the way it is with some of the material in my collection.

In the mid 80s I went to a record shop and bought a Best of Bowie LP...or so I thought.

When I got it home inside the record was actually Barry Manilow's latest !!

I still have it. I never returned it. I imagine there was a mix up at the counter.

I wonder what the would-be Barry Manilow fan did? Did they suddenly become a Bowie fan? :D

I have never been taught excel either at school, uni or at work...may explain a lot!
She's hefty and needy. Not a good combo.
She's single..... she's probably been dumped by ALL her blokes.
She could make a career from that ... oh, wait...

She'll always be single now. Undateable. No bloke will want the humiliation of being the subject of one of her future bleaty singles if/when they dump her. Too much risk for a quick leg over or three. Not to mention the fact she does seem to be a serial stalker.

You are overlooking her usp: loaded and famous - after all it works for Cherryl 'Cole'
    I think....

At the risk of sounding heartless is anyone else feeling that just maybe this outpouring of grief from a bunch of people that never met David Bowie is a little bit overdone?

It's like some sort of spiritual incontinence that occasionally spreads across the UK.

Ditto. There's just been a woman on Radio 2 saying 'get a grip'. I understand how influential Bowie was, but I didn't know him, so therefore I think that's a bit of a bummer and forget about it.

Then again i don't do grief. When Mr Bugs died early in the morning, I made an appointment at the funeral directors, rang people then around 10.30 thought hmm, may as well go into work now.:o

Unless she's split up recently, she's been with the same bloke for a few years now and I think they've got a kid together.

Well I win the Generali Memorial earliest Xmas ads of 2016 Competition. I'm watching the crap film after the cricket was on and we have had ads in 3 breaks running now for a power washer which is apparently a great Xmas gift for Dads!

There you go. No real world experience has our Adele ;)

By the age of 27 Bowie had slept with a decent percentage of girls and lads at the art college and elsewhere; he'd performed the official retirement gig of one of his alter egos; he'd written material for other bands.

(I'm not sure on the make up score though; I will call it a draw between Adele and Bowie!)

Talking of Christmas ... well Gen did start it!
The DB/Bing Crosby song will be wheeled out every Xmas now, forever more. Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth. That was filmed just a month before Bing died and aired as part of his Xmas Special 2 months after his death.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiXjbI3kRus

One thing DB HAS done is "bought immortality". If he'd just died without his last album/etc being released, he'd have just been a "regular, dead, popular guy" with just the usual gush. By releasing that album, timed with his own death, he's effectively bought and achieved immortality.

Drummer Boy. The Laughing Gnome. All genius is flawed :p

It's sad he died but then I've seen a bit about what happens when you hang about to die from cancer and it looks from a long way outside like he maintained quality of life until the end which is at least as important as quantity of life IMHO.

Grief and anger really do seem to feed off other's feelings these days. I hope we get over it because I think the alternative is the lynch mob.

It's cold, cold, cold. Sitting here wearing thick socks, buried under a sleeping bag and some thick pillows, wearing a thick hooded top with the hood up - and the heating's been on 2 hours. I think I'll get an additional woolly hat on soon.

Had to go to GP this afternoon for her to take another look at weird spot on my upper left arm. When I first got up and went for a swift smoke (around 12.30) I thought it would be cold so put my coat on but was too hot in the porch with front door open, and had to take it off.

Went and messed around trying to get desktop computer working again for a bit, no luck, so went out for another cig, and it seemed much colder. Off to docs, it was chucking it down. Once we got out of docs it was still chucking it down and had gone a lot colder. Put on central heating when we got home, plus I've got my furry electric blankie thing spread over bed and have that switched on too. Now am melting! :rotfl:

GP is sending me to dermatologist - she doesn't think it's anything nasty, but it's kind of dark coloured so she prefers to get a second opinion. I'm useless when she asks if it's changed size or colour, it's in a position on my arm where it's kind of difficult to see changes. I would say it's got bigger over say the last 3-5 years, but not over the last month. Guess I'm a bit neurotic over skin lesions as my Dad had solar keratosis, but (DNQWD) deleted

Anyone else watching the thing about bakers on BBC2? I'm fascinated, one of my Grandfathers was a baker, think his father was too, not sure if his father was as well. Need to get back onto Ancestry and try check them out better! GGF moved from Llangollen to Dolgellau I think. Wonder why!

Good luck with the skin thing, I'm sure it will be fine. We've already decided that 2016 is going to be a great year.

What have we got now? Adele singing about being dumped by her latest bloke.

Why did Adele cross the road?
To say hello from the other side

    I'll get my coat...
