Or alternatively if you start defining anything different from the norm as a medical issue then pretty soon everyone needs treatment of some sort.
it seems that about 20% of school children are classified as having special needs
of course the fact that schools get extra funding for each such children, obviously has nothing to do with it
another waste of money and doing real harm to the children0 -

It is a tricky one, obviously 'one size fits all' doesn't make sense but classifying anyone who isn't bang centre of every 'spectrum' as abnormal doesn't sound right either.I think....0 -
Went onto the strip, had a look at the fountain show at the Bellagio, the Mirage, then ended up in Planet Hollywood
As you are still able to type I am assuming you haven't been to Stratosphere yet
First time I went to LV we went by single prop plane, to Zion Canyon in Utah, before flying down to the GC................amazing, but not for those with a weak stomach.
Come to think of it, the first time I was there the Ballagio and the other Hotels nearby hadn't even been built. The Mirage was probably the most exciting thing on the Strip.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

There's always tomorrow if you want to PM me...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

And they don't really tell you how to use it either. I was using it "ice pick style" earlier. Maybe that is right.

Think I might get myself tucked up in bed ready for Poldark hour.
Yesterday was great. Crossed off a couple of things I'd been looking for an excuse to do... We started the day with a glass of bubbly at the champagne bar in St Pancras. I've walked past it a thousand times, but never been (well, why would I?). Then afternoon tea at the St. Pancras hotel (we been asked if anyone had ideas for where we could tea, so I suggested there). It was great. Would highly recommend it. Relatively reasonable price for that sort of thing, but the food was delicious and beautifully presented. And generously portioned - none of us finished our desserts. Really nice room and relaxed atmosphere too. Doozergirl, think you'd also mentioned you wanted to go there. Do it!
We went to Le Mercury Deuxieme for dinner, which sounds expensive but really wasnt. Bathroom let a lot to be desired, but the food was lovely and they do a good espresso martini too.
Drank waaaay to many cocktails throughout the day. Got back here around 1 this afternoon and went straight to bed. Looking forward to a good sleep tonight.0 -
I love those wacky alphabetty thread peeps...“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

We have had a very laid back weekend. Tried out the new leisure club membership by going swimming Saturday and Sunday. All good except I can't swim, I sink. I thought it was my arm that was the peoblem but found out today it is also my left leg. I cannot keep it up to kick.
I cant even float on my back, so I had a noodle to support my torso and held a bar to enable me to kick my legs.
I spent most of the time in the jacuzzi.
Need to go with the physio so I get a programme of things that will help me develop strength and movement.
The lycra in my new size 12 cozzie was a bit of a challenge left arm was not up to pulling up, So I need to use the disabled changing room then OH can come in and assist me0 -

I agree it may cause harm in some cases. Where did the 20% figure come from? I am confident it is a lot less.

Note the headline document says 17.9% in jan 2014 down from 21.1% in 2010, I suspect because schools have to pay for many tests now so schools reluctant to spend the cash with tight budgets only to be told do xyz that they know to do anyway. The rates are low in mainstream schools less than 3% this is then screwed upwards by those in special schools.
In my wife's class 8 of 32 kids have issues, one cerebral palsy, one autistic and one has dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia!!! The others are more manageable with more minor interventions but she is stretched thin with one TA and some extra help from the senco and another teacher for less than half her total sessions.
How much extra do schools get to deal with those kids? Go look that one up and be shocked....When using the housing forum please use the sticky threads for valuable information.0 -

I have been listing some more stuff on eBay but thought I would look at pre-loved as it is free to join this weekend, having joined thought I would try a local search to see what sorts of things they have listed and was slightly alarmed that the first item was 'lab b*tch wanted'...:eek:I think....0
