I mowed my "meadow" yesterday. I'm finding that cats don't mess on it as often as the herbal smell puts them off (which is fine by me). actually that smell when released at mowing over was divine. Much nicer than grass.

My plan of attack for the next few years is to get rid of the weeds I don't want (e.g. nettles and dandelions) and leave in the ones I want (e.g. clover, herbs and moss), and see what I end up with.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

How exciting! I love the smell of grass, but one of the big things for me is reducing mowing at the front of the house and increasing smell and changing textures.

I don't mind the morning so much as that its a fiddly area. And I want to make the 'lawn' there narrower still in time.

We will need a path through ours ( to the back doors ) and not sure what to do that out of. Paving stones will be very expensive, gravel is beautiful, but it does get kicked about and is a pain to maintain with leaf fall and is more of a pain under bare feet! I had thought of Tarmac with gravel pressed in but decided too twee. I'd consider straight up concrete tbh, ( other paths here are) and also if I weren't worried about light pollution I have a secret hearing for a star path. :o

Rock concerts are louder than the Big Bang? Spinal Tap?

Rock concerts have. There's a woman mentioned on the radio who has shouted louder than the big bang. Anything over about 120 dB.;)

I took the Generalissimos to see the Shaun the Sheep movie today. A lorra lorra laughs as someone once said. The big city down the road from the farm was called The Big City and was twinned with La Grande Ville. The pigs take over the farmhouse when the farmer leaves the farm. Also, the farmhouse looks almost exactly like my mate's farmhouse. Seriously the same. Even the back door and the guttering is in the same place.

I really enjoyed it. All the usual good Aardman stuff that we've been loving ever since Morph (I have anyway).

Re the Big Bang. I love the idea that space is expanding rather than things getting further away in space. Imagine NY and London being dots on a balloon and putting more air into the balloon. The dots stay in the same place but move further apart at the same time! How cool is that? I love this universe.

I took a bl00dy codeine pill. I'm quite annoyed with myself. Never mind, I continue not taking codeine. It's hard when they're just sitting there.

Ask Mrs Gen to hide the codeine from you.

I'm the same with chocolate. I can do without it now, but only if it isn't there. Needless to say, Easter was a dietary disaster.

Once I make my mind up, I can avoid chocolate with no problems at all...even if chocolate is sitting in the cupboard!

However, if I am not quite with my diet, then chocolate gets eaten :rotfl:

I'm on a made my mind up diet at the moment and not feeling any choccie withdrawl at present....sausage rolls and pizza slices are another matter though, I would kill for one or the other right now!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I've started deliberately leaving my phone at home for certain situations. I'm far too attached to it.

A watch is definitely not what I want.
A mate was out with me recently for a meal. He was (worryingly) quite proud of himself for not looking at his phone for almost 2 hours!
I frequently leave my phone at home. Hardly use it (except during bowls season).

Worried about this wind & the fence, and it is supposed to get worse!:(

Got my backside into gear with planting seeds yesterday before heading off to the bowls match.

    Into the ground I've sown:
    Purple carrots
    Normal carrots
    Onions
    Spring onions

    Into pots I've planted:
    leek
    Thyme
    Basil
    Cucumbers
    Beans
    Peas
    Tomatoes
    Lettuce
    Rainbow Swiss Chard
Tiger Tomatoes (supposed to be stripey?)
    Yellow Courgettes.

Lets see how we get on...
