    I've never had afternoon tea.

What is it ...? I think it's a pot of tea, some scones/jam/cream and a sandwich.

    Yep, in the afternoon.

Good to hear PasturesMum is back. :)

:). Good for you darling bugslet. Btw, I have missed you.

I am making afternoon tea for someone on Sunday who has never had afternoon tea or been to UK before. I'm trying to decide what cakes to bake. I'm guessing a boring old Victoria sandwich is probably a good choice. Still, I can lir it up. :) haven't decided what else. Fondant fancies are fun and pretty , but a bit of work for so few people IMO. It also needs to be cake that freezes well, because I'm guessing lots left over. Fir can take some to work though......new boy grovelling stuff. :)

Coffee and Walnut cake and lemon drizzle cake or a light spiced fruit cake.

Plus varities of cake. ( for at home tea). Two types of finger sandwiches offered. For normal tea I think two cakes is perfectly acceptable, but my mother will be there, and I will be expected to offer two cut cakes and two uncut cakes minimum, I don't mind that at all really, if I get the correct sort, so we are not left with loads of stale cake of fir tries to eat four cakes. It needs to freeze or last very well till the Tuesday.

I prefer the natural look, above.
The below river bed thingy is a bit too 'forced' for me...can't find the right word. :o

I fainted this afternoon in yogA. It was a faint though, not a lir special collapse I'm pretty sure. I had that hot fuzzy feeling. Then a sweaty ness afterward. Its the time of the month I am more inclined to faint.

But, I think I have forgotten to take my pills most of this week. I also forgot cash for yoga teacher.

Any way. All considered I think I might think about coming off the antidepressant I went on last year. I feel ok. ( stupid, but ok) If I stop feeling ok i can ask for it again.

I miss you too - just gets a bit ridiculous at work and trying to keep up on here was manic at one point!

Love tea partys, this is the first year where I haven't had the annual tea party for about 25 people. I don't understand this left over concept:rotfl:

Not sure if this is too far away from the norm, but this has gone down a storm in previous years

    as has

which turned out to be incredibly moreish, not that I got much of a look in after the plague of locusts, er guests, had passed by.:)
I think these are better for people used to These,

Which are very traditional and probably on the nose. I have never made coffee and walnut cake.

Good news all round on the Generali front:beer: - very, very pleased for you.

I thihnk some of the gardeners on here would be jealous of my situation at the moment. I've lifted around 80' x 10' of turf up from the side of the house. Bit less than 10' to do. Slopes gently upwards, until the last 15-20' when it rises quite sharply. It's a blank canvas ; that emoticon reflects how I feel quite well:o. Was heading down the waterfall/stream design idea, but then was introduced to dry creek beds, which are quite taking my fancy.

google images has a lot to answer for:)

I really like them, and presumably they are functional when there is heavy rain.

After nearly five weeks of waiting, the 'gadget' finally arrived!:D

I was surprised it arrived in such a large parcel for such a small item. About four times an iPhone parcel.

I bought the stainless steel linked watch, and the first problem was removing links so the watch fitted. Very fiddly, but managed it after about half an hour.

Next was parring it with my phone. This took about 10 mins and done without problems.

Now to use it. Well it's bloody good at telling the time. It also means I'll be spending less time playing with my phone as I'll be fiddling with my watch instead.:rotfl:

Not all my Apps transfer to the watch, but I assume this will all change when Software engineers update Apps to run on the watch.

I doubt I've scraped the surface on what the gadget will do, but will have days and weeks of fun playing around with it.

All in all I'm very pleased with it,and my aged Rolex will now be spending more time in a draw.

I don't think all ipad apps run on phone, so maybe not all will run on watch?

I have put away a fair few afternoon teas in my time, hence the expertise in cake recommendations. Ido not make coffee and walnut cake now as the buttercream is too moreish and like mogadon to a diabetic. I was however given some advice about them which is to make it 3 layers tall rather than two for a much more impressive cake.
