I generally only use corporate speak when I'm annoyed and trying to take the pee. Likewise there are certain email sign offs that's I don't really like that I only use if I'm not very happy. No one else wound notice, but it makes me feel better!
In the latter part of my career, if faced with mumbo jumbo, I would usually ask the speaker to clarify what they meant.Rinse and repeat if they did it again. It had the happy effect of most people resorting to plain English for the rest of the meeting but not always. Could not do it with the same intention for Clinical jargon as that was usually legitimate usage and my request to explain it, genuinely meant.0 -

Compulsory.... no. It's a distinctive feature of the NPT thread as its one of the few areas that sparks disagreement. I'm in the hate mushrooms category, but hopefully you won't hold that against me.
Another question is whether you live in Hertfordshire... but from your username I'm deducing not. That makes you from outer Heftfordshre. This is because the planet has two zones... Inner Hertfordshire, ie the county itself, and outer Herts, aka the rest of the world.
Those of us who frequent the thread are also more likely to be Jewish or have connections to the Jewish community. I'd say there's also more scientists than average here.
Not that any of this is a reason to join in or not... It's just how over time things have panned out. All are welcome here as a sanctuary from the often heated debate elsewhere. It's an antidote to all that. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I haven't watched much of it, but W1A is good. If anyone didn't catch it (still on channel 4 catch up service) Ballot Monkeys had some flashes of comedic genius too, plus a great cast. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Parking night repeat. This time in the farm gate near my bedroom window. LOUD music. Dogs didn't make a peep. Lol.
Simply spoiled their fun by reaching up and turning on my light. This scared them off romance but encouraged them to regain a show of 'manliness' by performing strange skidding manoeuvres in the road for about ten minutes. If I'd heard any other cars coming I might have got up and made a call. As it was despite not having to move from bed I listened to make sure his (?) car travelled away safely at least out of my earshot ( some miles last night, especially as he had one of those super noisey cars that are meant to sound 'big') then couldn't get back to sleep, which is unusual for me. Sometimes I struggle to get to sleep , but once there I can get back very easily.
This morning I feel severely grumpy that I share not only roads with these idiots, but airspace. I also feel severely right wing about tax and education etc etc, which is entirely ridiculous, as who knows where the plonker went ( or didn't ) go to school and what the lifestyle is when not waking me up and romancing in farm gate ways.
I cannot believe how well I used to cope with no sleep.0 -

Fir? Nope, but I will forward this to a chum or two.. The model at the bottom of the piece posing with a female model looks very uncomfortable tbh.
I see what they mean about lightweight though. I often thing when doing laundry that I couldn't handle the bulk and thickness of men's pants ( or those heavy weight t shirts).0 -
DW cut through the cord of our electric hedge trimmer the first time she used it....
In the us with no planning laws they have hundreds of cheap motels on every road out of town. It is hugely ugly but competition means mega cheap rates so it would probably solve lir's driveway problems....I think....0 -

Probably a good tactic to be banned from any attempts at mowing the lawn in future.

I didn't know there was a series before this. Need to get some series to get into. Finding Car Share to be V good. Want to get back into the Americans. Looking forward to the Heroes revival when that happens.
Chewie, make the most of the break. Parenting's a kind of a full-on sort of a thing. People try to describe it to you in advance - that doesn't really work.:o
If you like W1A then I think it would be worth a look at an old series called "People like us".
I think the voiceover character works better, but you decide.

Lol. Typo. 'Would fit'. I agree about men's pants. Sometimes they're so thick, they're like nappies.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
