For £3k why are you even bothering with an ISA when you can get 5% with the Nationwide & TSB current accounts?

because that NISA will exist for years and years. If interest rates ever improve then I'll be glad that £3k got put in that NISA.

The financial year ends today. So I should be able to fill my NISA allowance for this financial year today.
Have you already paid £12K into your Nationwide ISA in the 2014/15 tax year (ie subscribed, not transferred in from another provider)?

??? I do understand NISA yearly limits! hahaha this is a strange strange forum. Take it as a given that we all know to Deposit £15k per financial year. Dont bother teaching this grandmother how to suck easter eggs.

Yes grandmother, I bet that for all the rest of your life so far you have always been able to walk into your building society on a Sunday over Easter weekend and move money from your current account into another financial product that they offer, effective from that afternoon.

If you haven't, but didn't bother to arrange your finances over the other 250 business days this year, it's perhaps a bit too late to say "I should be able to fill my NISA allowance today" and get sympathy.

Sorry this is not particularly helpful

not asking for sympathy buddy just requesting the Learned Elders of Forum stop and digest the content of my question rather than immediately assuming we need to start at NISA for Dummies Page 1.

If anybody wants to tell me what the N in NISA stands for, please feel free. I'll swoon with admiration of such knowledge :rotfl:

yeah the 12k was paid at approx £1,250 a month for the past financial year. Unfortunately a very serious illness stopped me from adhering to the template of the Perfect Saver described by the ever helpful Mr Bowlhead

My question is...are there any other banks that will take my money.
Not trying to "teach you to suck Easter eggs", but I didn't think you could subscribe to 2 different cash ISA providers in the same tax year without transferring?

I've probably got it wrong, as you seem to know an awful lot about ISAs/NISAs etc, so you must be able to?

If you understand ISA limits why on earth would you suggest that there is a problem paying in £15k year after year when that's what is possible?

I prefer to get best return regardless of account type and could put money in ISA if rates ever increase but horses for courses. As long as you're sorted and know what you want then that's fine.

    .

:rotfl: hahaha I'm not saying that (nor have ever said it). At best you've misinterpreted something I've written or at worst you've just assumed some inaccuracy and repeatedly alleging I've said it

In a nutshell, this is how this forum thread went.
I asked "my children, did nationwide set a deadline date to deposit funds in to this years NISA"

somebody chipped in "theres no deadline date. ever. ever ever ever just keep throwin them £s in there bro"

I replied "no Sir thats not correct, there is a £15k limit every year, and that particular year ends upon midnight tonight"

somebody else contributed "good moro forgive my interrupt, but you don't understand NISAs old chap and by that I mean I didn't consider your actual query and wish to just tell you the key facts of NISAs"

    Hi
I had a problem transferring some last minute funds from my existing NW current account into my 2014/15 NISA before the deadline this evening and when I telephoned through to see if there was a problem they read a script out to me which basically said that there was a technical problem with their ISA accounts and they would be contacting everyone who had tried to transfer/deposit funds into their NISA account this evening without success to arrange for their deposit to be made into today's tax year and if any loss of interest occurred they would make up the shortfall. Sounds like a lot of people were trying to make last minute deposits and it crashed the system!!! LOL.
